The Memorial Stadium renovation project is a go. Nebraska’s Board of Regents gave it the green light on Friday, followed by a press conference with athletic director Troy Dannen and president Jeffrey Gold. Spring football is over at Nebraska. The spring game came and went on Saturday. The Huskers unveiled QB Anthony Colandrea and running back Jamal Rule and a long list of other newcomers. The dream season came to a screeching end Thursday night in Houston for the Nebraska basketball team. Iowa overcame a game-long deficit with a late run to beat the Huskers 77-71 in the Sweet 16. Nebraska basketball punched its ticket on Saturday to the Sweet 16, where a date with top-seeded Florida, the defending national champion, appeared imminent. Not so fast. No. 9-seeded Iowa upset the Gators, 73-72, on Sunday to join the Huskers in Houston. We are here in the aftermath of the greatest win in the history of Nebraska basketball. The Huskers took down Troy 76-47 Thursday in Oklahoma City to earn their first-ever NCAA Tournament win.
