David Strassman And Chuck Wood Storm The Studio !
David Strassman is no stranger to Australia – it’s almost like his second home, and was the first country outside of his native US that embraced his love of ventriloquism. He joined Lulu and Michael this week to talk about his ground-breaking new show “iTed-e”. He also brought along his less-better-behaved friend Chuck Wood, who showed everyone in the studio who’s boss ! We don’t have footage of it, but you will hear Lulu squirted with water by Chuck Wood, and you could too if you go to his show, which is at The Athenaeum Theatre, Melbourne until the 15th October, then touring regional Victoria. You’ll also see Ted E. Bear, Kevin The Alien, Grandpa Fred, Sid Beaverman, Angel and Chuck More info and tickets : DAVID STRASSMAN WEBSITE The post David Strassman And Chuck Wood Storm The Studio ! appeared first on Lulu and Michael.

Radiothon Special: Anna, Ash, Mike, Judith And a Simpsons Icon
What a big week it was! It was the Radiothon Special, which saw many new signups and renewals coming throughout the show, because of course, you want to keep hearing the malarky each week don’t you? Amongst that, our special guests were Anna Burgess (now appearing in Proof at the Alex Theatre, St Kilda), Ash Flanders (in his one man show “Playing To Win“), new artistic director for Melbourne Cabaret Festival, Mike McLeish and our very special guests Judith Owen, Welsh singer/performer and Harry Shearer – the man of many Simpsons – who happen to also be husband and wife and came to the JOY studios to talk about music, meeting and Monty Burns. The Point Of Light, Fix Her Up and a Moonman !
Now’s your chance to catch up with another fun show. Producer Paul was away so Chris Jamieson stepped in to be the “button monkey”! There was plenty of interesting stuff going on, including Lulu’s report on rehearsals for Avenue Q (which starts in August), sheep that were high, cheese that was rolling, plus interviews with the very talented Amberly Cull(who’s also in Avenue Q with Lulu) from The Point Of Light. They also talk to Arden Pryon and Seon Williams from new C31 Melbourne series “Fix Her Up”, which begins June 13 as well as comedian and Bayswater boy done good Lawrence Mooney, who has just had his TV pilot “Moonman” air on the ABC, which can still be seen on iView. Vote for it to go to air as a full time series. All that and more malarky in this week’s Lulu And Michael Podcast. Ex Prison Officers, Naked Restaurants, Special Guests And What Trump Won’t Do
Pamela Rabe from Wentworth and The Glass Menagerie taking back centre stage with Kyle and Michael This week Lulu was away on “Puppet Camp” as she’s just been cast in Avenue Q; the not quite child-friendly puppet show coming to Melbourne soon. Michael was joined by special guest host Kyle Minall who decided to wear his ugly shoes (well, that was the consensus). Our guests this week are Pamela Rabe who you might recognise as The Freak/Joan Ferguson from Wentworth (right now she’s an inmate) who is also currently playing Amanda Wingfield in “The Glass Menagerie” at The Malthouse Theatre until June 5. The wonderfully bubbly Rafael Bonachela joins us to talk about the new Sydney Dance Company show “Counter Move” at the MTC until June 4. Amongst all the hijinks, there was a “Dolly-Off” between Kyle and Michael, they talked about the Trumps not passing wind in front of each other (as you do), talk about Daniel Andrews’ apology, the San Diego Gay Men’s Choir public let down, plus a new naked restaurant idea for Melbourne. Marina, Mark, Trevor And Kate
Kate Ceberano with Lulu and Michael What a bumper show! Apart from the usual malarkey, we had Mark Vincent and Marina Prior join us to showcase their new duets album “Together”. Next, Trevor Ashley and Hilary Cole (director and star respectively) of Heathers The Musical (ends May 22). The Desperettes dropped in for a song and our favourite songstress Kate Ceberano spent some quality time talking about her career, health and new best-of album “Anthology” (it’s gone top 10 already). Check it all out in the special extended edition of the Lulu And Michael podcast. The post Marina, Mark, Trevor And Kate appeared first on Lulu and Michael.

Bailey the Staffy Cross
On this episode, there is lots of talk of Easter eggs, buns and holidays plus we had comedienne Penny Arcade in to talk about her new MICF show “Longing Lasts Longer“; Al Murray (The Pub Landlord) to talk about his show “The (British) Empire Strikes Back” plus Brian Nankervis dropped in to talk about “Rockwiz’s Really Really Good Friday“. Our favourite guest was the very adorable Bailey the staffy cross who came in with his carers and Marisa from Second Chance Animal Rescue. Bailey has an aggressive form of cancer which has shortened his lifespan, so he’s got a bucket list which is halfway done. One of those items was to join a radio show for a day. He got lots of snuggles, pats and belly rubs and had a great time. The post Bailey the Staffy Cross appeared first on Lulu and Michael.
