Meloncast

I discovered http://what3words.com whilst watching a random YouTube clip the other day. It was on this channel https://www.youtube.com/user/fullychargedshow if you're interested. What they do is really fascinating to me being someone who's interested in maps and tech. Essentially they've mapped the entire world into 3 by 3 metre squares and then assigned a string of 3 words to each of those squares. Test the map out here https://map.what3words.com For example, if I input fall.through.indoor I get this really specific location at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. That is excellent for finding where a mate is a stadium. In the pod I'm also thinking about how awesome this might be for events, delivery companies, uber and people organising picnics.

• Spent a fair chuck of time today being a perfectionist and probably not working on what I should have been. But that's alright I did get some stuff done. • I managed to create a new resume and "presenting who I am" structure. So now all of this can be found at various http://telegra.ph pages. It still all starts at http://harrisonmalone.info which acts as my about page but from there you can easily get to my online resume or my "what I can do" page. • For those who aren't aware of the http://medium.com business model it's quite an interesting one. Read about it here http://medium.com/membership • I kind of again realised how annoying podcasting can be. Apple Podcasts just makes it very difficult to put your work on their platform. Soundcloud is the easiest way to do it but you don't have pro features like being able to do markdown style show notes. I tested out a few other podcast hosting platforms today like http://squarespace.com and http://libsyn.com but either it's too expensive (Squarespace) or just really outdated (Libsyn). There is a way to get the proper show notes (with markdown) through Wordpress but boy I do not like Wordpress anymore. Can't believe I dealt with it for so long.
