Battalion Chief (Retired) Jay Morgan is a 38 year veteran of the fire service. He recently retired from Frederick County MD fire/ Rescue after 23 years. Terrance Tate worked for the Wilmington DE Fire Department for 17 years. He joins us on the podcast to speak about the house fire that occurred on September 24, 2016 that claimed the lives of 3 Firefighters. His crew was tasked with rescuing a firefighter after a collapse & MAYDAY. A secondary collapse also trapped his partner, Jerry Fickes, with Terrance narrowly escaping. Josh Burchick is a 22 year veteran of the fire service. He is currently a Captain with Howard County MD Department of Fire and Rescue. He is a fire service instructor and specializes in the IAFF’s Fire Ground Survival Program and has spoken at numerous conferences. He is also a peer fitness trainer and CrossFit coach. Steve Schultz is a career Battalion Chief with Frederick County MD Fire & Rescue. He has over 35 years in the fire service, the last 24 with Frederick County. He rose through the ranks from a Firefighter to Battalion Chief and has also served as a paramedic and on the department's Hazmat team. He is also a certified Maryland State Fire Instructor. In this episode, he walks us through an incident that occurred on March 22, 2002 where himself and 3 other firefighters were caught in a flashover.
