MOST HAUNTED

This week on Most Haunted with Dan Terry: Heather and Shawn Ritchie moved into the same town I left for the mountains, and started an incredible team called Research in Paranormality, or RIP.We have some great stories of places we’ve both been, and one of my old team, Ray McDowell, is helping them. Misty Conner, along with her sister, inherited from her father the ability to use magic. Today, she and her sister are psychic mediums, and considered Appalachian Witches. The also are healers and cleansers, as well as authors of the book Appalachian Conjuring.We’ll be discussing the use of the Craft, demonic, and mountain “granny witches”.

Our guest this week has certainly made her name shine in the Paranormal field.Sherri Brake is the owner/operator of Haunted Heartland Tours, runs Hauntedhistory.net, and has authored such books as The Haunted History of the Ohio State Reformatory, The Haunted History of the West Virginia Penitentiary, Haunted Stark County:A Ghoulish History, and one we’ll be discussing, Dowsing for Ghosts and Graves. Her tours are available in the United States as well as Ireland and Scotland, and has taken tours right to the back gate of Area 51!

My friends, the Halloween season is upon us. I know many of you are looking for something new to do, and I have done some of the research for you. This week's guest are my favorite North Carolina ghost hunting team, Stokes County Paranormal. They have been kind enough to let me investigate with them several times at some very haunted places. In fact, they will be doing tours of Madison, N.C., including where the TV show 28 days was filmed, a store and former funeral parlor where the bodies of the Lawson family were brought after the father murdered his wife and almost all of his kids on a cold Christmas Morning!

Ghost Light Paranormal is a team of investigators who got together when a friend working at a theatre believed he was seeing ghostly activity. After that positive investigation, they decided to keep helping others with their paranormal problems. Based in Kansas, they continue their own spirit journey by investigating homes, businesses, and doing public events.

Stephanie O’Reilly purchased her dream home, the 1889McInteer Villa four years ago. It might have occurred to herthat she was purchasing a 100+ year old mansion in the heartof Kansas most haunted city, Atchison.But reality stopped in for a visit very quickly. The lights inthe tower turned themselves on and off. No mean trick,considering there was no electricity! Doors slammed all nightlong; boxes moved on their own in front of the shocked peoplewatching! Rocking chairs would start and stop rocking on theirown, and figures were seen in the windows watching.Since taking possession, Stephanie has discovered ninenatural deaths and one suicide. She and her guests haveseen multiple shadow people, including one with glowingeyes. Pam Mandel and her sister, Karen, didn’t understand the things they were seeing as children. Pam saw one spirit, who she thought looked like Popeye the Sailor. But that spirit was mild compared to what two little girls lived with. Terrifying premonitions, ghost encounters and even demonic attacks starting as young kids, Pam only 3 years of age, and continuing onto this day. Plus, they had to keep their abilities a secret, afraid they would be considered “crazy”. On Friday, March 18, we’ll be talking to Pam Mandel, author of The Hauntings of Two Sisters.

The city of Wamego, Ks., is extremely haunted. The Columbia Theater was brought in fromthe Chicago Worlds Fair, art work and all. The man who did it kept his own pair of psychics,who were sisters, to advise him on all matters. Down the street, a museum dedicated to the Wizard of Oz has many original pieces from the allegedly cursed movie, including the spirits that hang around it. A beauty parlor, an old opera house, and and a restaurant nearby are also haunted. Claudia McAlister is a volunteer serving on the performing committee for the Columbian Theater, is on the committee for the Oztoberfest put on by the Oz Museum, and runs Boos and Brews, which is several weekends a year where people can do a ghost hunt within the several haunted places in Wamego.I was invited in originally by Brenda Mason with Kansas Paranormal Research Society.Since then, I have returned to help with Boos and Brews with my friend Jason Roberts with Roadtrip Paranormal. Adam Lemp began selling beer in St. Louis in 1840. Upon his death, his son William tookover in 1862, and made Lemp Beer a household name. But fortunes changed when his favoriteson and main heir, Frederick, died of illness. That started the Lemp downfall, with four moresuicides in the family, several deaths from cancer, and the Lemp Brewery failing duringprohibition.But the family mansion remains, as does many of the family spirits.
