    Sarva Blackwell

Sarva is such a beautiful, gentle soul, and I was so honoured to chat with her in this episode! She shares with us how she has been drawn to working with children and families since a young age, which eventually led to her creating a beautiful postpartum Ayurvedic Doula training program. Sarva truly invokes beauty and sacredness in all that she does, and shares her passion and knowledge with others in caring for new mamas during the sacred window of postpartum. She shared some of the difficult journey she's been on with her third baby, who is turning two soon, and that no matter how many children you have, each birth is an initiation, and an opportunity for growth and expansion. Sarva also shared some of her beautiful self-care practises with us, and the way she is able to incorporate her children into these practices, not only sharing a piece of herself but also instilling the importance of beauty, sacredness, and self-love to her children.I hope you enjoy listening to this conversation as much as I enjoyed having it!You can find Sarva on Instagram @sarva.rosewater or check out her website: www.innersunandmoon.com

    Courtney Hobbs

In this episode Courtney shares about how the time her first daughter spent in the NICU showed her how much moms need other moms and led her to create Mothertelling; an incredible curated event giving space for mothers to share an aspect of their mothering journey (which Courtney so beautifully guides them to do!). When I learned that Courtney was doing this I just knew I needed to have her on the podcast, and I am so glad we finally got the chance to chat!We also talked about being present, leaning in, and finding moments of joy in our motherhood. I so enjoyed talking with Courtney and I hope you enjoy listening to our conversation! You can connect with Courtney on Instagram @iamcourtneyhobbs or check out her website: www.mothertelling.com

    Claire Smith

Claire and I met in a prenatal yoga teacher training program over 5 years ago and it was so nice to reconnect and chat about motherhood! Claire shared about her C-section with her first baby, about others bonding with her baby before she had the chance, how important it is to research and ask questions during your pregnancy so that you can advocate for yourself during your birth, and how much of a business birth is for the medical system. We talked a lot about supporting your children and honouring who they are. Claire's oldest child is transgender and she gave us a little glimpse into that experience, the support they've received, and the challenges of navigating the daily 'small stuff' most of us take for granted. How important it is to just listen to your kids and not try to fix anything for them. Find Claire on IG @yogatruly

    Erin Kiers

Erin had so much wisdom and truth bombs to share with us all! A mom to 2 bio kids and 2 step kids, Erin shared parts of her journey from being in difficult relationships, to being a single mom, then finding her person and blending their families together. She talked about having severe pre-eclampsia with her first born who then spent 5 weeks in the NICU and how unsettling it is to be home without your baby. Her difficulties with breastfeeding. The lack of maternity leave when you're self employed. She continually stressed the importance of being as consciously present as possible with your children and the effects that has. Erin also shared the story of her eldest's wedding and the beautiful interweaving of all parental figures in her life. I was a bit under the weather for our chat (you'll only hear me quietly in the background) so I let Erin take the lead and she did not disappoint!! Thank you Erin for your strength and beauty and wisdom and for keeping it real. Find Erin on IG @hybridhairanddetoxspa or www.hybridhairanddetoxspa.com

    Paula Lima

Paula and I had such a beautifully messy and meandering conversation about Motherhood. It can be difficult to whittle these convos down to a few words or ideas but here goes! Some things we touched on: staying present and holding space for our children to receive their gifts and guidance which in turn allows them to fully express who they are in this lifetime; how unprepared we are for motherhood; how our kids really just want to spend time with us; that the more we can heal ourselves and work on ourselves the better guides we can be for our families and these shifts are so present in our children. At the end of our chat Paula talks about her experience of a spiritual emergence (clinically known as psychosis). I'm so glad she shared about this as so many women go through a period of postpartum rage, anxiety, depression, and psychosis. We need to speak up and share these experiences to help one another and to truly know we are not alone in this. Thank you Paula for your time and your wisdom and for sharing your beautiful heart. Jennifer Sicoli

The topic of self-care, which Jennifer refers to as soul-care, is deeply woven throughout our conversation. Jennifer has a wide array of practices she turns to that support her and bring her home to herself, and notices how deep of an impact they have on her children as well. Jennifer has an incredible connection with spirit that guides who she is and all that she does. She loves to hold space for others and to guide them to connect to their own inner light. She talks about reclaiming and embodying the gifts we’ve received from our ancestors, and how story-telling is massively important to the ancestors (so let’s keep having these conversations!) Jennifer and her family have a deep connection to nature and love to spend time outdoors together. They intentionally create space in their days to be together by having family meals, check-ins, and shared experiences that allow them to continually come back to each other. Jennifer is in what she refers to as the Enchantress phase: a space in between Mother and Crone, one in which a woman owns her story and begins putting into place all that’s she learned. (LOVE this and totally here for it!!). You can find Jennifer on IG @innerlightintuitive or at www.innerlightintuitive.com

    Victoria Nicholas

Victoria and I had a beautiful, heart-led conversation about motherhood. We chatted about expectations one can have about their children and things they would like them to do or play with versus the realities of each particular child's interests, needs and wants. The importance of honouring each child's unique nature and to go with the flow and be in more of a witness state to the unfolding process of these beautiful souls we have in our care. We talked a lot about the loss of a village and how detrimental that is and the importance of finding your mothering community however you can, and that it often shows up in unique ways that we never would have expected. I don't think I even got to my usual questions in this interview as Victoria and I just jumped right in to the flow and allowed the energy to guide the conversation! Victoria is a Doula, currently on pause raising her two beautiful little boys. You can find her on IG @the_noble_mother AND check out her beautiful podcast of the same name where she speaks to incredible women who share their stories around birth, life, magic and death.

    Tori Galloway

Tori has an incredible story to share and I am so grateful that she was willing to chat with me openly about her experience! She talks about the struggles and stigma around being a teenage mom and dealing with mastitis not once but three times! To then having a twin pregnancy and the loss of one of her twins at four weeks of age. This led to an incredible pumping journey over the following years (while also exclusively breastfeeding two children) and she managed to donate 13000 ounces of breastmilk to the milk bank to support micro preemies. Her interest in breastmilk then evolved to creating keepsake jewellery which has now expanded to include other inclusions as well (you'll have to listen to the end to hear all about it!). You can connect with Tori on IG @torsjewelryandkeepsakes and if you'd like more info about the milkbank head to www.milkbankontario.ca or about Breastfeeding Buddies www.breastfeedingbuddies.com
