On this episode of "In the Garden with Andre Viette", Andre talks about a variety of gardening topics including lawn care, applying fertilizer with the drought and Dogwoods.

Roses are one of the most beautiful and popular flowers you can grow. Andre Viette knows a lot about roses, having even helped to write books for Jackson and Perkins, one of the largest flower growers in the nation. Andre talks about types of roses, planting and caring for roses and protecting them from insects and plant diseases.

This has been a strange spring according to Andre. Temperatures soaring to near 90 degrees followed by a hard freeze with lows dropping to near 20 degrees. On top of that, drought conditions. The combination has caused damage to plants and trees. Many plants have been killed, blooms on trees, including fruit trees, have frozen. Even long-term damage to well established trees and scrubs. Andre talks about the impact this combination has had on gardeners as well as farmers.
