Several members shared the painful but necessary decision to distance themselves from family members whose negativity, narcissism, or hostility had taken a real toll. Letting go of toxic connections — even close ones — came up again and again as one of the most meaningful things members had done for their peace of mind.Some found their boundary in the digital world. Learning to use the block button on social media, one member noted, had done more for their mental well-being than almost anything else — a reminder that protecting your inner circle applies online just as much as it does in real life.Others redrew their relationship with food entirely. Shifting from eating for comfort to eating for fuel — choosing grilled over fried, cutting out soda and added sugar, reaching for real food — became a boundary that quietly transformed how members felt in their bodies every single day.And across every story, one theme rang loudest: the power of no. Not as rejection, not as unkindness — but as a complete sentence. As one member put it, "The no is about me. It's about taking care of my space, my time, my mental health."
