Live Light in 25 Words – an inside scoop
By Rebecca Bills 100 million of them are distributed worldwide, spanning 2,500 language groups… Still only two in every ten are utilised on a daily basis... I’m referring to the supposed ‘Daily Christian habit’ of engaging in God’s Word and reading the Holy Bible. ”I don’t have time”, “it’s not important” or “it’s too legalistic” are just some of the reasons we give for not reading the Bible. The hustle and bustle of the modern daily grind sees us with less time and motivation to pick up the Bible to spend time engaging in the ‘blueprint of the Christian faith’ held by most to be the inspired word of God. Bible Society CEO, Greg Clarke chatted to Leigh Hatcher on Open House earlier this week, outlining the huge challenge Christian society is facing, to personally increase day-to-day Biblical engagement. However, never fear, help is at hand, the Bible Society has a plan and Clarke gave Open House an exclusive inside scoop of their exciting new campaign ‘Live Light in 25 Words’ starting later this year. “In 25 words you can change your life, in 25 words you can have a better understanding of the Christian faith and in 25 words you can have your day transformed by that message,” Clark said. This study method is not meant to be hard nor lengthy but a way to get people ‘back to the Bible’ in manageable daily chunks. Greg Clarke understands the ‘busyness’ of our lives which leaves us with less and less time to spend reading the Bible, but also sees this as a poor excuse. Check out this interesting and helpful chat, in building your own Bible habit that will have you enjoying the Bible again, in a manageable and fun way.
