SEASON 2 FINALE: Two Mikes, A Gunna, and a Classic Albums Draft
What's up y'all!? We made it to the end of season 2!! For the season finale, the OG two (Joey & Hellblazr) start the episode off by giving their thoughts and opinions on the new Mike Dimes record, TEXAS BOY, and the new Killer Mike record, MICHAEL. The two then get into a classic albums draft, having a back-and-forth showdown picking the best albums from 2018 now that those projects will be half a decade old this year. Finally, Hellblazr and Mr. Mooreales finish season 2 with a review of the new Gunna record, a Gift & a Curse, going over everything he spoke about on the project including his experiences before, during, and after the YSL Rico case. S2 Episode 10b: The Soft Life of KAYTRAMINE
On this episode of OMC, Joey, Hellblazr and Compton review the new KAYTRAMINE album and the new Summer Walker EP (CLEAR 2:SOFT LIFE EP) that came out yesterday. They also discuss the soundtrack that Metro Boomin is working on for the Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse movie and give their thoughts on how the project will turn out. Finally, the 3 have a quick conversation about new-age songs that can be played at a wedding while you're walking down the aisle, trying to prove a point that Mel Mitchell (@ItsMelMitch) made, wrong. For this episode of OMC, Hellblazr, Joey, and Compton give their thoughts and opinions on the new Rap Caviar documentary that came out on Hulu. Each of them breaks down each episode and discuss the lives and experiences of each rapper interviewed while also bringing their new takes to the table. The three then break into a fantasy-style draft for the 2023 XXL Freshman List and create a squad of 5 from the members that could take the tenth spot this year. After they dive into those two albums, they discuss their favorite sub-genres in Hip-Hop today and then give their thoughts and expectations for the new "RapCaviar Presents" episodes coming out on March 30th, only on Hulu. Then, to close out the episode, they all give a recap of the JID show they went to at the Fillmore and talk about the future of season 2 of Concert Cam. They also have a conversation about how many features is too many features on an album, a topic inspired by Trippe Redd's latest album with 23 features on it. First, they introduce their new producer of the podcast, Compton, and then immediately crown the Vinyl King between Joey and Nat (10:00). This week on OMC, Nat, Joey & Hellblazr continue talking about the XXL freshman class and how they think they're doing, specificaly talking about they're freshamn freestyles this time around. Next, they give their thoughts on the BET Awards and then dive into how Ye is being sued for sampling issues with Donda 2. Towards the end of the episode, the crew talks about artists they want to see drop in the 2nd half of 2022, what albums will be classics by the end of the decade and how far they've come as a brand, thanking their fans in the process.
