    Worshipping God Together In Song

The gospel shows us that worship matters to God in that he would send his own Son to the cross to make sinners into worshippers. Our service to God is predicated upon the service of Christ toward us. He is the chief edifier and calls us to edify one another as we gather. Through the gospel, we are his body and have a responsibility to edify one another. One of the means of doing so is in song as we recount the glorious truths of God and the gospel together as his people. Colossians 3:16-17, Ephesians 5:17-21 29 July 2018 Aidan Spencer PDF

  44. 9

    Jesus and the New Creation

Paul draws on the themes from the letter (salvation by faith in Christ's work on the cross, apart from any works of the flesh) and points his readers towards the new creation through Christ's work.  He makes it very plain that his opponents seek to glory in their flesh but that God's people glory in the cross alone.  Whereas the Judaizers would boast in the marks of circumcision that they inflicted upon their own bodies, Paul indicates that the true marks of following Jesus are the marks of persecution inflicted upon him by others for preaching grace alone.  We must not boast in ourselves, but we boast in the cross of Christ. Galatians 6:11-18 22 July 2018 Simon Murphy PDF

  45. 8

Loving God's Family Through the Spirit

The freedom we have in Christ leads us to Spirit-empowered living that is characterised by love for one another in concrete expressions, especially within the household of faith. This love is expressed in guarding one another for holiness, bearing one another’s burdens, and investing our lives sacrificially to do good to one another in practical ways. Galatians 6:1-10 15 July 2018 Seow Aik Keong PDF

  46. 7

    Loving Freely and Self-Forgetfully

The freedom we have in Christ leads us to Spirit-empowered living that is characterised by love for one another in concrete expressions, especially within the household of faith. This love is expressed in guarding one another for holiness, bearing one another’s burdens, and investing our lives sacrificially to do good to one another in practical ways. Galatians 6:1-10 15 July 2018 Jacob Ng PDF

Loving One Another in the Family of God

The freedom we have in Christ leads us to Spirit-empowered living that is characterised by love for one another in concrete expressions, especially within the household of faith. This love is expressed in guarding one another for holiness, bearing one another’s burdens, and investing our lives sacrificially to do good to one another in practical ways. Galatians 6:1-10 15 July 2018 Lim Lian Arn PDF

  48. 5

Live and Walk by the Spirit

There are two sides to every Christian, the flesh side and the Spirit side which are our old selves and our new selves as Christians. The two are diametrically opposed to each other. Our inner conflict between the flesh and spirit produces outward actions - fruit. The desires of the flesh lead to the works of the flesh - sinful vices, and the desires of the Spirit lead to the character of Christ in us - the fruit of the Spirit. Those in Christ are enabled by the Spirit to crucify the flesh. We must respond to the Spirit’s work in us by keeping in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5:16-26 8 July 2018 Jeremy Lee PDF

    Cultivating A Spirit-Filled Life

There are two sides to every Christian, the flesh side and the Spirit side which are our old selves and our new selves as Christians. The two are diametrically opposed to each other. Our inner conflict between the flesh and spirit produces outward actions - fruit. The desires of the flesh lead to the works of the flesh - sinful vices, and the desires of the Spirit lead to the character of Christ in us - the fruit of the Spirit. Those in Christ are enabled by the Spirit to crucify the flesh. We must respond to the Spirit’s work in us by keeping in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5:16-26 8 July 2018 Geoff Jelley PDF

  50. 3

    Standing in True Freedom

The implication of the freedom we have in the gospel is that if we return to trying to justify ourselves by the law, we do not become more righteous, but we actually sever ourselves from Christ.  Religious rituals like circumcision count for nothing, but what is important is that we love one another.  The problem is that the people in the church who insist on circumcision are leading others away from the truth of their justification in Christ alone.  In this, they are not loving one another but causing division.  We must rather use our freedom in Christ to love one another. Galatians 5:2-15 1 July 2018 Simon Murphy PDF
