Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown
by British Comedy Guide
Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown is the innovative comedy panel game podcast from sketch team Pappy's, recorded in front of a live audience. Set in Pappy's flat - with landlord Matthew in charge - each episode sees unruly tenants Ben and Tom battle to avoid doing annoying household chores. To help them in this exciting high-stakes contest they force their houseguests (different special guest comedians each week) to take sides and help them fight it out over a number of games.http://www.comedy.co.uk/podcasts/flatshare_slamdown/

Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 8 - Episode 8 (Latitude '18 Special)
Glenn Moore and Jayde Adams and a House Band(!) are the tent, yurt and teepee guests for a very special episode recorded at the 2018 Latitude Festival. Within... a lot of singing, an embarrassing lack of scientific knowledge, an attempt at crowd surfing, misplaced scissors and The Killers. As you'll hear at the end of the episode we're super grateful to everyone who has donated money towards the series. If you'd like the chance to hear your name read out alongside a nonsensical compliment, you can! DONATE HERE: www.comedy.co.uk/pfs/donate You can also very much support the show by telling other people about it. Thanks! More episodes: https://www.comedy.co.uk/podcasts/flatshare_slamdown/

Pappy's Festive Flatshare Slamdown 2018
Lazy Susan and Adam Hess are the helpers helping Santa's little helpers (Tom and Ben) in this year's blockbuster Festive Flatshare Slamdown. As with any Xmas special, expect Carol Singers, Santa, Panto, True Stories, Advocaat (of course) and quickfire answers with a 'vague assonance' (TM) to the 12 days of Christmas! More episodes: https://www.comedy.co.uk/podcasts/flatshare_slamdown/ Want to give us an Xmas gift? Why not slip some money into our stockings? You can do so at comedy.co.uk/pfs/donate (try not to picture us dancing for you in stockings as you do this). If Xmas has left you stony broke, fear not, we'd also love the gift of exposure (try not to picture us exposing ourselves as you read this). Please tell people about the show! Gift it to a friend, secret-santa it to your entire following on social media... or why not make a loved one the offering of all the Flatslam in existence (just put the URL comedy.co.uk/pfs into a Christmas card - sure it'll look cheap, but they'll thank you for it eventually).

Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 8 - Episode 7 (Change the Fuse)
Rachel Parris and Sean McLoughlin are the houseguests for a return to the LaughOutLondon Festival featuring Tom almost asphyxiating himself beatboxing, Sean getting very angry about Money and Minerals, Rachel delivering the most impressive Beef Brothers sneeze-based prosecution ever, Matthew calling an audience member a 'bit of a piece' and Ben failing to clear a very, very, very low bar when it comes to explaining why he can't do the chore. We are eternally grateful to all the #flatslammers who have donated some cold hard cash towards the series. If you'd like to join them you can do so at www.comedy.co.uk/pfs/donate But don't worry if you can't! You can very much support the show by spreading the good news about Flatshare Slamdown far and wide. Thanks! More episodes: https://www.comedy.co.uk/podcasts/flatshare_slamdown/

Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 8 - Episode 6 (Creosote The Fence)
Jess Robinson and Caroline Mabey join Pappy's for rather an experimental show which features not only props but two Beef Brothers complainants. Also within you'll find... Caroline inventing a new and very popular word, Jess flirting Clarky into submission, Tom making notes about pants and Matthew palpably wishing we'd made a couple of the rounds a little less complicated. We are super grateful to everyone who has thrown a bit of money at the show. If you'd like to join these legends you can do so by clicking on comedy.co.uk/pfs/donate - If you wouldn't like to do so, you can still help us out by spreading the news about the show to all corners of the globe. Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 8 - Episode 5 (Fix The Leaky Tap)
Will Adamsdale and Annie McGrath join Pappy's for a fun show in which you'll learn... which panelist has the most unread emails, what Ben knows about Hans Christian Anderson, what Will knows about lawn mowers, why Annie thinks a cat should be put down, how Matthew is a true professional when all around him are misbehaving and whether one of the rambliest appearances by Fanshaw Standon ever is enough to win the case... If you'd like to DONATE to the podcast we'd be very grateful indeed. You can do so at https://comedy.co.uk/pfs/donate If you can't afford to do that, then why not help us out by spreading the word about the show? Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 8 - Episode 4 (Book The Hostel)
Anna Mann and Lou Sanders are the houseguests as Pappy's return to the glorious Mach Comedy Festival for a noisy and fun-filled flatslam. Featuring out of tune singing, high intensity sound effects, an awful lot of candles and an unusually tuneful quickfire round. Vast gratitude to anyone and everyone who has chucked a few coins into the flatslam bucket. If you'd like to throw some cyber-cash at us, you can do so here: https://www.comedy.co.uk/pfs/donate/ And of course, you can always help us by somehow tricking your friends and acquaintances into listening to Flatslam to the point of total addiction. Thanks hugely for your continued support of the show. Special thanks to everyone who has donated money to the cause - if you'd like to join them you can do so here: comedy.co.uk/pfs/donate Additionally/Alternatively please do evangelise about Flatslam to your friends, acquaintances, strangers and enemies. Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 8 - Episode 2 (Return the VHS to Blockbuster)
Series 8, Episode 2 (Return the VHS to Blockbuster) Gráinne Maguire and Kerry Godliman join Pappy's for a nineties-tastic rampage through short films, Queen songs, whispering and a suspicious belch. Within the episode we learn that Gráinne only knows one type of amphibian, Kerry is very very very competitive, Ben knows whether he's coming or going, Tom can't pronounce plaid and Matthew can. Thanks for your continued support for the show. As Tom says in the intro "without your ears we would just be some kind of computer program". Huge thanks also to everyone who has donated money to Flatshare Slamdown - it is really appreciated. If you'd like to bung some cash at us, you can do so here: https://comedy.co.uk/pfs/donate And as ever, your word-of-mouth help getting the show into potential new listeners' incredibly valuable ears* is also brilliant - thanks! Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 8 - Episode 1 (Drive The Campervan)
Series 8, Episode 1 (Drive The Campervan) Kiri Pritchard-McLean, Nish Kumar and Josh Widdicombe are the triple threat of guests to join Pappy's in this first episode of Series 8 - recorded at the wonderful 2017 Machynlleth Comedy Festival. Why three guests you ask? Good question, but they blend like the grape varieties in a fine Bordeaux for a hugely fun show featuring wine, donkeys, orgasm chests, art, someone nearly being sick (TW!) and cameos from Josie Long and Mach Fest head honcho Henry Widdicombe. More episodes: https://www.comedy.co.uk/podcasts/flatshare_slamdown/ Mach Fest is a truly fantastic comedy festival and we're really excited to be doing another Flatshare Slamdown there this year on 5th May. Pappy's Festive Flatshare Slamdown 2017
Christmas Special 2017 It's Chriiiistmaaaaaaaaaas! ...and Elis James and Andy Zaltzman are the gifts that keep on giving in this typically, nay, traditionally shambolic and festive episode, stuffed (like a badly prepared turkey) with anger, carol singing, accordion music, Advocaat, Gold, Frankincense and a chainsaw. Want to give us an Xmas gift? Some people think that giving cold hard cash as a Christmas present is a bit of a faux pas. Luckily, we don't think that at all, so if you want to slip some money into our stocking you can do so at comedy.co.uk/pfs/donate (try not to picture us dancing for you in stockings as you do this). If Xmas has left you stoney broke, fear not, we'd also love the gift of exposure (try not to picture us exposing ourselves as you read this). Help us spread the word about the show: gift it to a friend, secret-santa it to your entire following on social media... or why not make a loved one the offering of all the Flatslam in existence (just put the URL comedy.co.uk/pfs into a Christmas card - sure it'll look cheap, but they'll thank you for it eventually). More episodes: https://www.comedy.co.uk/podcasts/flatshare_slamdown/ Links! Check out Elis' rather spartan website - www.elisjames.co (which includes a link to his Radio X podcast with John Robins). And johnrobins.com/gigs has John's tour, which Elis plugs in the show. Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 7 - Episode 6 (Clean The Fridge)
Series 7, Episode 6 (Clean The Fridge) Aisling Bea and Steve Hall are Pappy's housemates for a special episode recorded at the 2017 Latitude Festival. As well as battling it out to see who has to clean the fridge, the teams look forward to Fleet Foxes and discuss the relative merits of Mumford & Sons and their takeover of the festival main stage under the guise of 'Gentlemen Of The Road'. Also... making hot things cold, a Roonerism Spound and a sexy, noisy Beef Brothers. Oooh yes, I like that! Technically this is the October episode, so sorry it is nearly a month and half late! Huge thanks to everyone who - despite our tardy timekeeping - has donated money to Flatshare Slamdown - it is hugely appreciated. If you'd like to join them you can do so here: www.comedy.co.uk/pfs/donate And if you can't bung us any cash, then you can still help us a whole heap by spreading the word about the show to likely listeners-who-don't-know-it-yet - thanks! Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 7 - Episode 5 (Lay The Table)
Series 7, Episode 5 (Lay The Table) Rose Matafeo and John Robins join Pappy's for a bumper episode - so bumper in fact that it is arriving at your ears more than a month late! Sorry! It's many attractions include impromptu Bill Withers singing, Rose drawing a blanc, John eulogising about Marie Rose sauce, Matthew threatening to call the whole show off if people don't behave, Ben misbehaving and Beef Brothers getting a little bit too 'real' for Tom. Huge thanks to everyone who has donated money to Flatshare Slamdown - it is very very much appreciated. If you'd like to join them you can do so here: https://www.comedy.co.uk/pfs/donate And as ever, your word-of-mouth help thrusting the show into potential new listeners' peripheral vision is also brilliant - thanks! Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 7 - Episode 4 (Stained Carpet)
Series 7, Episode 4 (Stained Carpet). Josh Widdicombe and Joe Wilkinson are Pappy's guests in a show recorded in June 2015 which Producer Ben has been psyching himself up to edit ever since. It features the first ever live Quickfire Round jingle, a couple of good games and a vat full of white wine. Also watch out for evolutionary biologist Simon Watt making an impromptu appearance as a cricket-style 'runner', assisting one of the teams when the official house guest becomes somewhat debilitated! Simon was at the recording having earlier made a fully planned guest appearance on the Series 6, Episode 2 of Do The Right Thing (https://www.comedy.co.uk/podcasts/dotherightthing/series6_2/), Producer Ben's other podcast. If you'd like to throw a bit of money at Flatshare Slamdown we'll be very grateful indeed and you can do so here: https://www.comedy.co.uk/podcasts/flatshare_slamdown/donate/ Of course, any word-of-mouth help publicising the show in general is also brilliant - thanks! Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 7 - Episode 3 (Sweep The Chimney)
Beattie Edmondson and Richard Herring are Pappy's house guests and Isy Suttie makes a special guest appearance in a show recorded in May 2016 that features some of the longest and most drawn out rounds we've ever devised! But fun nonetheless with knives, jugs, catchphrases and at least once threatened punch. If you're a fan of the show and would like to bung us a few quid for this episode and the many others we've spewed out in the past, you can do so at https://www.comedy.co.uk/pfs/donate Of course, your help spreading the word about this episode and the show in general is also brilliant and very welcome - thanks! Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 7 - Episode 2 (Clear Out The Attic)
Roisin Conaty and Joel Dommett are Pappy's house guests in a show that features high singing, confusing listing, one testicle and Matthew having a breakdown. And, as you'll hear in the podcast, we've now set up the means for listeners to bung us a few quid if they enjoy this episode and the many others we've spewed out in the past - you can find out more about that here: https://www.comedy.co.uk/pfs/donate Of course, your help spreading the word about this episode and the show in general is also hugely valuable to us - thanks!

Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 7 - Episode 1 (Bleed The Radiators)
Tom Allen and Phil Wang join Pappy's in the first episode of the new series! Keen eared listeners will spot a few refinements, additions and omissions to the classic #flatslam format... ...not really! It's the same old gubbins, lovingly packaged this time round into a convoluted radiator-themed flat-centric argument. Within you will find really hot rapping, hard-hitting moral lessons, a toilet-based beef and high scoring agogo. As it is a new series, your help spreading the word to the as-yet-unconverted is especially helpful! More episodes: https://www.comedy.co.uk/podcasts/flatshare_slamdown/

Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 5 Teaser
Hark the Herald Angels Sing! Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown is returning for a fifth series in January 2015! Matthew, Ben and Tom will be getting into more ridiculous arguments over a new batch of mundane household chores with special guests Alex Brooker, Angela Barnes, Adam Buxton, Ivo Graham, Helen Zaltzman, Holly Burn, Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan very soon, but if you can't wait till then, here's a Christmas present in the shape of a 'teaser' for the new series. These are the collected 'warm ups' from the new series recorded before the podcast begins where Pappy's read out their favourite Beef Brother problems which didn't make it into the show, introduce their guests and generally talk balls. The brilliant artwork is by Haiminh Le - do check out his other work at fontpusher.co.uk or follow him on Twitter @haiminh Why not spread the word about the podcast and help generate some sort of mass hysteria ahead of the new series beginning in January?! Merry Christmas! http://www.comedy.co.uk/podcasts/flatshare_slamdown/

Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Badults special 2
Jack Docherty and Gemma Whelan join us for part two of this Badults Special mini series, and it is a long rambly corker of an episode full of dodgy stories, dodgier accents and the dodgiest legal arguments you're ever likely to hear. Plus there's scurrilous gossip about REDACTED and REDACTED which almost derailed the podcast completely. Thanks to Gary Ogden for the brilliant artwork - go and check out his other stuff here. http://gogdenart.tumblr.com Hopefully we'll be back with more episodes later in the year - do keep your eyes peeled and come and sees the show live if you can. Also, please do evangelically spread the good news of #flatslam with all your friends and acquaintances. And don't forget to tune in to Badults on Mondays at 10pm on BBC3! http://www.comedy.co.uk/podcasts/flatshare_slamdown/

Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Badults special 1
Hey there! It's a surprise mini Flatslam podcast - the first of two to mark the second series of Pappy's sitcom Badults on BBC3. What you're hearing here is Pappy's warm up before our last podcast recording at London's Soho Theatre in April. Unlikely as it sounds, it is fun stuff and should whet the appetite ahead of a bumper podcast proper (winging its way towards you in the very near future). Don't forget to tune in to Badults on Monday June 2nd at 10pm on BBC3! http://www.comedy.co.uk/podcasts/flatshare_slamdown/

Pappy's Festive Flatshare Slamdown 2013
Eddie Pepitone and David O'Doherty join Pappy's for a very merry festive special recorded at the Galway Festival back in October. Unwrap it and you will find many yuletide goodies within, including... David discovering a new talent, Eddie lying about eggnog, Ben and Tom really hitting rock bottom with their opening gambits, Matthew leading the audience in a lot of singing and one team going into minus figures. Sally Grosart has come up with some brilliant artwork, so do visit her website www.weepaperpeople.co.uk and follow her on Twitter too: @scallyg If you want to give us a Christmas present, then what we'd love is the gift of exposure. Help us spread the word about the show: tweet about it, enthuse on Facebook, comment on iTunes... or why make a loved one the offering of all 18 and a half hours of Flatslam in existence (just put the URL comedy.co.uk/pfs into a Christmas card - sure it'll look cheap, but they'll thank you for it eventually). Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 4 - Episode 4 (Hoover)
Series 4, Episode 4 (Hoover): Andi Osho and Matt Edmonson join Pappy's for the last episode in the series, recorded at the Phoenix Fringe festival! Within it you will find Matthew ripping off a much more famous panel game, Tom and Ben musically ripping off one of the most important rock bands ever, Matt ripping off his clothes (in story form) and Andi almost having her hair ripped off. We can't extend the 'ripping off' analogy as far as the beef, which involves a cat. Again, we are lucky enough to have some superlative show art courtesy of Sally Grosart. You should definitely check out her website here and follow her on Twitter too: @scallyg http://www.weepaperpeople.co.uk If you want to be our best pal, then please help us spread the word about the show: tweet about it, enthuse on Facebook, comment on iTunes or tattoo the website url onto your forehead. Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 4 - Episode 3 (Washing Up)
Series 4, Episode 3 (Washing Up): Paul F. Tompkins and Elis James join Pappy's at the Soho Theatre in a very fun episode indeed! In it Paul shows off an unexpected British accent, Elis reveals his underwhelming impersonation skills, Ben uses the word Flibbertigibbet, Tom exposes his uncanny inability to rhyme and Matthew becomes a one-man jukebox (for a minute or two and then stops). The beef confusingly comes from a man called Laurie and is about a woman called Ron. The show illustration comes courtesy of the pen / hand / mind / computer of Roger Wade. We think it is brilliant - if you agree then you can find his website at rogerwadeart.com and follow him on Twitter too: @RogerWadeArt If you want to be a true champ, then please help us spread the word about the show: tweet about it, enthuse on Facebook, comment on iTunes or just hire one of those airplanes to write a message about it in the sky. Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 4 - Episode 2 (Garden)
Series 4, Episode 2 (Garden): Aisling Bea and Lloyd Langford join Pappy's in a green-fingered second episode of the new series! Recorded at the ARGComFest in July it contains several revelations - including... what does Aisling want to plug? what is Lloyd's second job? who is the voice of Tom's internal monologue? what is Ben's solution to conflict in Israel? what does Matthew say that provokes fervent booing? Also within you'll finding singing, an accordion (thanks to Martin White!), an underwhelming weight-based game and a toothpastey Beef courtesy of Hannah. The show's artwork was done by Tom Crowley - and I'm sure you'll agree it is amazeballs. You can find out more about his oeuvre here http://crowleeey.tumblr.com or, if you're twitterish, @crowleeey If you want to be solid gold heroes, then please help us spread the word about this new series: tweet about it, enthuse on Facebook, comment on iTunes or just print up some stickers and put them on strangers coats. Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 4 - Episode 1 (Tent)
Series 4, Episode 1 (Tent). Joe Lycett and Mike Wozniak join Pappy's for the first episode of the new series! It's a camping special recorded at the wonderful Machynlleth Comedy Festival in May 2013 and as you'd expect it features Wham, spelling and horses. In it - in amongst the usual mix of puns, jingles and games - you'll find Mike leaping to the defence of a cat, Joe demonstrating his knowledge of fish, Ben flirting badly, Tom not knowing whether to be offended or pleased and Matthew failing to ever pronounce Machynlleth correctly. The show's artwork was done by illustrator James Walmesley - and bloody brilliant it is too. You can find out more about his work here http://jtwillustration.carbonmade.com/ or by following him on Twitter at @RteeFufkin If you want to be absolute ledges, then please help us spread the word about this new series: tweet about it, enthuse on Facebook, comment on iTunes or just walk up to strangers in the street and deliver them a lecture about its merits. Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 3 - Episode 4 (Party)
Sara Pascoe and Nick Helm help Pappy's summon up the ghost of Rufus Hound in this drunken final 'Party' episode of the series. Recorded at the Pleasance during the Edinburgh Fringe 2012, this is a booze-fueled slice of chaos, which, should you be that way inclined, you could use as the basis for a fairly messy drinking game yourselves (NB Pappy's in no way endorse excess drinking, as this podcast will demonstrate very badly). In it, Helm attacks the Beefer Brown, Pascoe 'outs' a former #flatslam panellist, Parry gets a bit aggressive, Clark doesn't know what's going on and Crosby rhymes laptop with "Crap" and "Pop". It's all here folks! Including our most ambitious Quickfire Jingle ever (Photos: http://pappyspodcasts.tumblr.com/post/35642291075/arthurs-seat-jaunt-flatslam), our first ever round whitewash and a whole host of bad language (in terms of both swears and actual awful speaking). Thank God this episode's illustrator Rosie Cunningham brought calmness and skill to the party (you can find more of her work here http://www.analoguegirl.co.uk and by following her on Twitter: @illustrationetc) We hope you've enjoyed this third series. The best way you can help us is to spread the word and get us some more listeners - that would be aces. Also, please do comment on iTunes, like us on Facebook, follow Pappy's and Producer Ben on Twitter @pappystweet @_ben_walker and visit Pappy's Tumblr. Pappy's are also currently on tour so you can see them live.

Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 3 - Episode 3 (Freezer)
Rhys Darby and Jason Byrne come to Pappy's flat to fight over who is going to defrost the freezer. Recorded at the Pleasance during the Edinburgh Fringe 2012, this episode has it all... Tom delivering a true 'festival moment', Ben telling an awful anecdote, Jason's truly unforgettable impersonation of a famous pacifist, Rhys suggesting they all play a game of 'Escape From Cold Tits' and Matthew revealing that he doesn't like ice in his bottom. Thanks to Steph for her rubbish-bin-related beef and to Moose Allain (@MooseAllain) for his evocative art work.

Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 3 - Episode 2 (Shed)
Tim Vine and Claudia O'Doherty join Pappy's for a shed-based second episode recorded at the Pleasance during the Edinburgh Fringe 2012. In it... Claudia shocks and arouses Tom and Ben with her opening gambit, Tim tries not to worry about grotting and Matthew tries not to ruin any more than one of Tim's punchlines. **Warning: approach this show with caution if you are afraid of puns** Thanks to Luke for his Feng Shui-based Beef, and to Pei Yen (@_peiyen) for her brilliant illustration.

Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown - Series 3 - Episode 1 (Internet)
David O'Doherty and Celia Pacquola are the houseguests for the first in a new (mini) series recorded at the Pleasance during the Edinburgh Fringe 2012. And this battle over who is going to mend the internet router is properly falling off the bone. Whilst David lectures us on squash and Matthew uses the phrase 'pussy-blocker' to everyone's consternation, Celia somehow manages to out-wrong Tom with a story about a frog. Plus, we discover Ben's one skill. Thanks to Fiona for her smelly beef. Also huge thanks to Lawrence Dodgson (@larrybusiness) for his excellent illustration.
