Philan-topic by Tufts' Tisch Council for Philanthropic Leadership

With the help of Bithiah Carter and David Moy, President and CEO of New England Blacks in Philanthropy and Deputy Director of the Hyams Foundation, we discuss how we can promote anti-racism in philanthropy work. As a club, we hope to provide a wide-scope look at philanthropy, while also focusing on key aspects, to provide our listeners with the many opportunities that philanthropy has to offer.

Since Season 1 is titled “Effective Philanthropy”, we thought it was important to unpack this overarching term. Effective is a rather subjective, and non-technical term, so we sit down with TCPL co-president Julia Proshan to contextualize this theme.

With the help of Klare Shaw, Director of Programs at Liberty Mutual Foundation, we unpack corporate philanthropy through Klare's lived experiences and in-depth knowledge. As a club, we hope to provide a wide-scope look at philanthropy, while also focusing in on key aspects, to provide our listeners with the many opportunities that philanthropy has to offer. 

Welcome to the Tufts' Tisch Council for Philanthropic Leadership Club Podcast!  In this week's podcast promo, we present a short compilation of sound bites from our Fall 2020 event: "Mobilizing During COVID: A TCPL Conversation." During this panel, we spoke with 4 Tufts University students to learn about their philanthropy-based summer work, COVID struggles, and personal intentions and impact.  Throughout Season 1, we will begin to unpack this idea of "Effective Philanthropy," and hopefully provide our listeners with the tools to make informed and thoughtful philanthropic decisions.
