Host Amir Oren chats with Israel Air Force Reserve Brigadier-General Shmaya Avieli, who flew in combat, commanded squadrons and bases and served as IAF attaché at the Washington Embassy, liaising with various Pentagon branches and agencies. As the head of the Defense Ministry’s Sibat division, charged with helping local defense industries export their products, Avieli had to assume the character of what the Minister who appointed him, Ehud Barak, called “a salesman”. He apparently managed the transition from piloting planes to peddling products, as sales soared by $Billions. A protester against Netanyahu’s judicial coup, Avieli also talks about the U.S. Military under Trump.
