    Our last show of the year! It's Christamas 2015 and what better way to end the year by speaking to people around the world about where they are, where they're originally from, how they're going to celebrate this holiday period, etc. We answer a question from Nekane about an important English expression and a query from Maria about writing. We speak to Fernando at Gatwick airport, Tamara getting off a train in Scotland and Tracey from Peterborough, England, who now lives permanently here in Spain. Lots of different accents! We had a few technical issues with the sound and connections but we were able to speak to them for a little bit, so turn up the volume and enjoy our last programme of the year! Thanks to Fernando Guerrero, Tamara Lisón and Tracey Vessey, our guests for today, as well as Nekane and Maria for their questions.     Do you like wine? A few weeks ago we started with this topic "catas" - winetasting. In this week's podcast we develop it a bit more and use a lot more vocabulary. We also get to taste a marvellous Spanish wine! Isabel tells us all about it and Cristina, Belén, Maria Eugenia, myself and Fernando, our new colleague who joins us via Skype from London, give her our humble opinions! Initially the Skype connection has a lot of interference but gets much better later on. The team exchanges views on the wine before we start talking about airport experiences, a tricky but funny topic! Afterwards, we reply to a question sent in by Chema Serrano, asking the difference between an invoice and a bill.     We start by translating "uno, alguno, ninguno....varios, algunos etc" into English. Well, we do our best to! Do you like riddles? Maria Eugenia tells us a riddle that we have to solve before the end of the programme. Can you solve it before we hear the answer? Did you know that Hollywood doesn't portray the "thumbs up" signal in Gladiator sequences? Cristina and Elena tell us about funny translations of signs and advertising. One restaurant sign was translated as saying "Our food is guaranteed not to cause pregnancy". How interesting! Finally, we play a little vocabulary game. Cristina gives us examples of English words which are almost impossible to translate into Spanish.     In this recording of programme 3, 2015, we talk about PlayPhrase.me, which is a site where you can listen and read phrases in English. The phrases are shown in films and series such as Friends. They also appear on the screen for you to follow. Belén gives us examples of phrasal verbs used in songs, so that's really worth paying attention to plus I give some info on the late great Freddie Mercury. And to finish, a little about Robert Burns, a Scottish poet and how we celebrate his birth by eating Haggis and dancing to the sound of the bagpipes!

    In this programme you can repeat some words with Maria Eugenia in order to practise your pronunciation. There are gaps for you to repeat and see if you can get it right. Belén tells us about how crazy the English language is, for example she tells us that there's no egg in Eggplant, no apple in pineapple etc. Cristina talks about an English dish called Toad in the Hole, which is made with pastry and sausages.     Firstly, Belén translates names and/or surnames of famous people and creates the Spanglish versions. Then Cristina really does translate a text. Both of these produces some curiosities and laughs. We also play a game of "Odd one out" where we say 4 words but one of them is different from the others for a reason - could be that three are adjectives and one is a noun, for example.     In this programme we look at 5 expressions/phrasal verbs, one of which concerns a wolf! To wolf something down! Come on, wolf your breakfast down or we´ll miss the bus! Victor talks about historic sport. Belén gives us some words which rhyme and Cristina translates a poem in her Espanglish! Lots of repetition and lots of laughs, of course. Enjoy it!

    Chitty Chatty is a radio programme where some Spanish people and I, Bob Murray, sit down in a studio and practise English. That sounds okay but our main task is to help other people beat the fear of speaking in English, understand English better and, more importantly, have a laugh! In this podcast Victor talks about graffiti. Belén gives us examples of songs with days of the week in the title. Cristina translates humour (not easy!). And Maria Eugenia is put to the test with the vocabulary and pronunciation that I give her!
