Black History Month Banner and Edmonia Lewis Stamp Unveilings: February 23, 2022
The 45th stamp in the Black Heritage series honors sculptor Edmonia Lewis (circa 1844-1907). As the first African American and Native American sculptor to achieve international recognition, Lewis challenged social barriers and assumptions about artists in mid-19th century America. The stamp art is a casein-on-wood portrait of Lewis, based on a photograph taken in Boston between 1864 and 1871. Art director Antonio Alcalá designed the stamp with original art by Alex Bostic.

Law and Public Service Internship Judges' Roundtable: July 30, 2021
The Office of the City Attorney (OCA) Law and Public Service High School Internship Program hosts Justice Jill Karofsky (Wisconsin Supreme Court), Judge Joanne Kloppenburg (Wisconsin Court of Appeals), Judge Stephen Ehlke (Dane County Circuit Court), ALJ Reisha Mitchell (Division of Hearings and Appeals), and ALJ Jim Quattromani (Division of Hearings and Appeals) for a roundtable discussion. The purpose of the OCA Law and Public Service High School Internship Program is to provide high school students from the Wanda Fullmore Youth Internship Program and 100 Black Men of Madison with first-hand experience working in a local government law office. As a public law office, the OCA believes it has an obligation to assist in the development of local youth who may be interested in pursuing a career in law and public service. The OCA hopes this Internship will give Interns the experience, exposure, and networking opportunities needed to guide them in the pursuit of their professional goals.
