    In Cape Town, South Africa, a seventeen year-old high school student puts on a gathering. His mother has just died. Now young Sive is head of the family. And he's got a funeral to plan.     PREVIEW: Composer Plays the Eiffel Tower

    A composer recorded sounds of a bridge in New York City, hundreds of metal cables, bolts and girders. Those sounds became the notes for this composition. Now he's using the same technique on a structure in Paris. CLIP: Believe it or not, we're getting things that sound like tympani, things that sound like marimbas, but we're just playing on metal.     PREVIEW: Vertical Farms of Singapore

    Next time on The World, a city that imports most of its food - begins to grow its own. CLIP: Whatever we produce in Singapore must compete with the prices of vegetables coming into Singapore.     Next time on The World, processing the Marathon bombings. It's especially complicated for some Muslim students. CLIP: I also feel kind of a second wave of sadness at, you know, like, the increasingly suspicious eyes, and the just utterly dumb claims that are generalizing about a community that includes me and my family and my friends.     PREVIEW: Belfast Protestants Learn to Speak Irish

    These language students are learning Irish. And that's unusual. You see, they live in Northern Ireland. They're Protestants. And there, Irish has been a Catholic thing. CLIP: When I was at school, I was brought up in East Belfast, yes, in a very Protestant area and for me to learn Irish would have been considered very strange. Belfast Protestants learn to speak Irish. That's next time on The World.
