Underground Express is a bold and imaginative ride through shifting eras and textures of electronic music, built around concept, atmosphere, and refined genre fusion. Introduced with the unmistakable feeling of a train departure, the track immediately establishes a strong sense of movement and destination, drawing the listener into a journey that feels both urban and surreal. From there, the production unfolds through a carefully layered blend of influences. A deep 100 BPM trancy bassline brings a hypnotic pulse reminiscent of Logic Bomb’s Normalised, while shimmering late-90s Goa Trance arpeggios add tension, colour, and forward motion. In the breakdown, the track takes on a swinging, rhythm-breaking feel, infused with the psychedelic spirit of Simon Posford’s Shpongle. As the arrangement progresses, the track gradually transforms into something colder, more mechanical, and more robotic, with distorted synths and techno rhythms channeling the electronic flavour of Orbital, Underworld, Fluke, and other defining acts of the early underground era.

I wanted to capture that raw, analog vibe — the warmth, the imperfections, even that cassette tape flakiness that made every track feel alive. This time, though, I went deeper — literally underwater. I layered in real recordings of whales and dolphins, letting their natural calls weave through the breaks and textures. It’s less about energy and more about atmosphere — like floating beneath the surface, weightless, in a world where sound feels infinite.
