PDC Live- 2012 in Film: The Good, The Bad, and The Disapointing!
Uhhh...I didn't think that The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly had been used enough for shows like this so BOOM, there's your title! Yes folks...it's that time of year again! We, the critics of Punch Drunk, will be joined by our very good friend Nell Minow, the Movie Mom and we are very excited to announce that also joining us tonight is 'The Cinema Siren' Ms. Leslie Combemale! Other than being in awe that we were able to convince to lovely ladies to talk with us for an hour we'll be bringing you our Top 3 films of the Year! Three you ask? Why that's an odd number....well, yeah, it would be if we weren't being extra awesome and bringing our thoughts for worst and most dissapointing movie as well! But wait there's more! We're going out with a bang by brining telling you which actors/actreesses we think were the true breakout stars of the year. Join US! Didn't you know that every time someone listens to PDC Live!! a cute little puppy is born...you DO like puppies, don't you?

PDC Live ep. 170: Django Unchained; Les Miserables; This Is 40
What, did you think that we were going to slow down just because the weekly installments of PDC Live!! are coming to an end? Not. A. Chance. We have not one but FOUR huge movies this week to talk about. Quinton Tarantino's new epic Django Unchained, then we'll talk about Oscar darling Les Miserables. Usually that would be more than enough to fill a few hours but we're also going to somehow manage to fit in Judd Apatow's latest This is 40 and the Billy Crystal/Bette Midler vehicle Parental Guidance. PDC Live ep. 169: The Hobbit; Hyde Park On Hudson; Roger Michell interview
Well, we've finally come to the weekend movie geeks across the globe have awaited for close to a decade. The continuation, or rather begining, of the Lord of the Rings franchise as 'The Hobbit' charges into theaters across the country. Does it live up? Should they have just let it be? Travis and I will explore everything Baggins as the fate of pop culture hangs in the balance. We'll also be talking to Roger Michell, the director of this week's other big release 'Hyde Park on Hudson' a film that gives us Bill Murray dressed as FDR playing it serious!

PDC Live ep. 168: 'Deadfall'; 'Playing for Keeps'; WAFCA Awards
It's a HUGE week around the PDC as we are getting ready to vote on the annual Washington Area Film Critics Association (can you see why we use WAFCA?) awards. The awards are decided by the best and brightest film critics from the nation's capital and if history teaches us anything it will be a good preview of the Oscar's! Travis and John will break down all of the nominees and what we think will be taking home the night's honors. As if that weren't enough we'll also be delivering reviews of this week's major releases, Deadfall, a heist gone wrong movie with Olivia Wilde and Playing for Keeps starring Gerard Butler.

PDC Live ep. 167: 'The Collection'; 'Killing Them Softly'
All kinds of killing going on this week on PDC Live as we take a look at a movie that had me at hello with it's first set picture, Brad Pitt's Killing Them Softly. Next it's on to Jigsaw's possibly more insane movie cousin in The Collection, the sequel to the awesome indie horror hit The Collector. It's trap filled houses without the moral overtones!

PDC Live ep. 166: 'Hitchcock', 'Red Dawn', 'Life of Pi'
A Hollywood legend, an 80's action staple remade, and a movie many claim to be the next Avatar, that's this week in a nutshell (thanks Austin Powers for not letting me use that phrase without quoting you). We take a look at the Anthony Hopkin's starring biopic Hitchcock then we join a pack of Wolverines in Red Dawn and last but certainly not least, we find out if Life of Pi is a new classic or just a treat for the eyes.

Critics, Punch Drunk Critics. Bond is back! We'll be talking about the ins and outs of Skyfall and wether the claims of it being the best Bond ever are legit. We'll also be talking about one of this nation's most beloved presidents as we tackle Steven Speilberg's Lincoln. Saving the best for last we'll be hearing from the beautiful Imogen Poots as she joins the PDC to talk about this weeks A Late Quartet.

The Punch Drunk Interview with 'Star Wars' special effects guru Nick Maley!
To say this has been a landmark few weeks for Star Wars fans would be putting it lightely. With news that Disney had bought Lucasfilm and is moving forward with Episode VII fans went nuts, both for and against. With more questions than answers we at the PDC want to sort through the rubble and see what will become. We are extremely happy to welcome special guest Nick Maley, one of the geniuses behind the creation of Yoda, and who worked on A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back to talk all things Star Wars, plus take a look back at his storied career that includes Superman and Krull! It will be a day long remembered!!

The driving force behind one of the groups that defined 90's hip hop, Rza of the WuTang Clan took time out to talk to the Punch Drunk Critics about his new film The Man with the Iron Fists, a Kung Fu extravaganza with heavy roots in old school martial arts cinema.
