    Jeremy Siegers

    Send us Fan MailAs a young boy, Jeremy knew he struggled to physically keep up with other boys, particularly when running. At age 14, he was diagnosed with Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy, a muscle-weakening disease he was born with that slowly progresses over time with no treatment or cure.  In the years to come, Jeremy found ways to adapt and lean into skills he both enjoyed and was really good at. After being denied opportunities with other companies he decided to start his own.  Sharp Mill Graphics is a certified disability-owned business nationally and in the State of Illinois. So, we invited to the show Jean Minkel who is considered by many a pioneer in physical therapy when combined with assistive technology.  A physical therapist and master clinician internationally recognized for her work in assistive technology, Jean is also an independent consultant who provides educational and consulting service to all members of the Assistive Technology team – consumers, therapists, suppliers, manufacturers and payers.Jean is the former director of the Seating and Mobility Program at the Center for Rehabilitation Technology at Helen Hayes Hospital in West Haverstraw, NY. She has co-authored a Wheelchair Selection Guide and a textbook titled, “Seating and Wheeled Mobility: A Clinical Resource Guide.”Jean has been recognized by the assistive technology community for her expertise and contributions with the RESNA Fellow award in 1995 and the Sam McFarland Mentor Award in 2012.     Dr. Chris Rosa

    Send us Fan MailTo help mark Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Month, Bryson brings on his friend, mentor and dare we say hero, Dr. Chris Rosa.  Dr. Rosa serves President & CEO of The Viscardi Center, a network of non-profits that educate, employ and empower children and adults with disabilities.  He also serves as President of the internationally renowned Henry Viscardi School.  A published disability studies scholar, he serves in national leadership roles for organizations that promote access and wellness for Americans with disabilities.     Send us Fan MailThe beautiful, talented and very funny Jill Moore joins the conversation.  Jill works with a commercial playground manufacturer, and she travels around North America to educate communities and designers on how to make playgrounds more inclusive and what disabilities to consider when designing.  Growing up with Spina Bifida, Jill continued to lead a pretty active life including elite wheelchair racing. She has a wonderful perspective on life and she is here to share it all with us.

    Dr. Austin and RX Gaming

    Send us Fan MailAustin Scott, MD joins the show to talk about the program he started as a way to introduce adaptive video gaming into the Cincinnati community through collaboration between two organizations: The AbleGamers Charity and The Bridge Adaptive Sports and Recreation. In order to remove limitations and develop a "fun" place to visit they developed a new tradition of monthly community events at a local esports bar and restaurant, Velocity Esports, in December 2022. The main focus was providing evaluations to any gamer with disabilities that wanted to be able to play games and providing any necessary equipment for these accommodations free of charge.
