Episode 2: Carmina Berbari
Episode Notes Adrienne chats with Carmina Berbari about navigating the various sides of the Montreal (mostly stand-up) comedy scene. Known for being “Gen Z’s last she/her”, and in the mainstream comedy scene for being “funny for a woman”, Carmina sticks to her pronouns out of fear of becoming just FUNNY. She is your favourite comedian’s favourite comedian and addicted to Depop — and I couldn’t be happier to have her on Queer Ears. She’ll be performing at Ladyfest (https://www.ladyfest.ca/) this week (September 3-8), and if you stay tuned until the end of the episode, she’ll give you exclusive access to the rest of her schedule for the month. Episode 1: Introductions
Episode Notes Hello and welcome to the Queer Ears podcast! My name is Adrienne Roy and I have spent summer 2024 living, breathing, researching, sleeping, and eating (in that order) queer life in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal. As a queer stand-up and sketch comedian with a touch of narcissism, my interest in and deep appreciation for the queer and femme arts and culture scene in this city, including the rich history of a long-standing CKUT radio show called Dykes on Mykes, is at the centre of this podcast. In this episode, I tell you a bit about myself, the direction of this podcast, and its connection to Dykes on Mykes. I hope you enjoy it, and maybe even decide to stick around.
