April: 2026 PART 2- Kiran & Vanita from VAMP & Saheli Sangh
Welcome to our April episode of Radio AvA! Made possible by a collaboration between Kiran & Vanita from VAMP & Saheli Sangh & Jo Hemlatha. Real Radio AvA heads will know we previously released an introduction to this episode back in October 2025, well this is the interview we primed you for & know you have been waiting for. We were joined by Kiran & Vanita who are both sex work organisers & activists based in West India. They talked with Lolly about the activist & community work that they do & have been doing since the 90’s, how HIV & AIDS activism is entwined with SW activism, overcoming stigma, celebrating SW pride, supporting the undocumented, substance use in the community & so much more. It’s a fascinating talk that I know will give you razor focus for your next community action, protest or act of mutual aid. March 2026: Fatness & Sex Work with Pisces
This month we were delighted to welcome Pisces back (after a very long hiatus) to discuss the vast subject of sex work & fatness. In the age of Ozempic fuelled body fascism we came together as fat babes to talk about exactly what it means to be fat & selling sex. We talked about all the not so fun stuff like fatphobia in the industry, larger bodies being pushed out of public life & what it means to be someone’s fetish as well as very joyful topics like being free of diet culture, sexualising the fat body & how being fat sex worker feels like fat revenge. The conversation covered an array of cultural topics & figures from Lizzo, heroin chic, feederism documentaries on Channel 4 from the 00’s, Beth Ditto, Tess Holiday, dating app culture, the Kardashians & the ever-changing meaning of BBW. I really had the feeling while relistening to this that this is only the start of the conversation, so if you feel like there is something around sex work & fatness that we didn’t talk about that you would like to talk about please get in touch. DM or email [email protected] Follow our guest Pisces on Ig @piscesdisco.art she also created the art for this episode! <3
