Reflections

Years of medical training taught me a lot about the human body. Not enough about being human. Not all lessons come from textbooks. Most of mine came the hard way. This is where I share them. Welcome to my reflections.

my thoughts on alysa liu, as a doctor

She lands quadruple jumps at 13. I was memorizing biology at the same age. On the surface, Alysa Liu and a Pakistani doctor have nothing in common; but look closer, and the parallels are striking. In this episode, I reflect on what it means to be pushed into mastery before you’re old enough to truly choose it, the weight of parental expectations, the quiet force of cultural identity, and the complicated relationship between excellence and passion. Was it always our dream or did we just get really good at someone else’s? A personal, honest conversation about ambition, belonging, and what we do with the life that was shaped for us.

why i as a pakistani doctor deleted instagram?

In the first episode, I talk about the day I realised I was performing my life instead of living it. I spent years chasing validation on Instagram. Then I became a doctor and everything changed. This is that story. What happens when you realise the life you’ve been curating online isn’t the one that actually fulfils you? That’s where “Reflections” begins.
