Episode 50- Chitralekha
Have you ever wondered what sin and virtue really mean? How do we define them? Today’s film explores precisely these kinds of philosophical questions. Its dialogues are mesmerizing and linger in the mind long after the film ends. Chitralekha is a 1964 classic film, based on the eponymous novel by Bhagwati Charan Verma.

Episode 49-Dulhan Ek Raat Ki
The film is inspired by Thomas Hardy’s famous controversial novel Tess of The D’Ubervilles. Despite a strong cast and magnificent music, the film failed miserably at the box office. My best guess is that its bleak, uncompromising subject matter may have kept audiences away. Dulhan Ek Raat Ki is a very gloomy tale and it gives you the illusion that you know where exactly it’s headed, only to surprise you at crucial moments.
