Return To The BoomBox Radio Podcast 9/06/08 - Medinah Starr: The Next Problematic Femcee From Philly This show marked the last time we came on at our early afternoon time, and we decided to depart with a few surprises. With the whole crew of DJ BlacKnight, Dialekt718, John Black, Jeff Strange & Eprops in the place, probably one of the most funniest and informative interviews came from one of the legendary Boot Camp Clik members, Rock of Heltah Skeltah. Before he came through, Philly native Medinah Starr called into the show to introduce herself and talk about her label that has previous guest Access Immortal signed to it, as well as her upcoming EP and how being a self made femcee has made her success all the more better. Once the convesation ends, Da Rockness Monstah comes through and tells some funny origin stories to the crew before this first half ends. We got in several sets of music in between all of this, see some of the goodies we played for yourself: Black Moon feat Smif N Wessun - Black Smif-N-Wessun Smif-N-Wessun - Wrekonize Heltah Skeltah feat Method Man - Gunz 'N Onez Originoo Gunn Clappaz - Bounce To The Ounce Medinah Starr - Affirmation Medinah Starr feat Access Immortal & Torae - Beauty & Pain Joel Ortiz - Memories

8/30/08 (Part 1) - Unearthly Rhetoric Call In

Return To The BoomBox Radio Podcast 8/30/08 - Unearthly Rhetoric Calls Back Into The BoomBox For the end of the month, the original game plan was to pack the studio with a bunch of long standing independent artists such as the Brooklyn Academy and Mr. Mecca. However, things didn't quite work out that way and only Mr. Mecca was able to make it, but this was still a dope show with a surprise call in from Kentucky based artist Unearthly Rhetoric. Hitting on the usual topics of Hip Hop, politics and the labor day weekend that caused only co-hosts Dialekt718 & DJ BlacKnight to come. They held it down with several charged sets of dope golden era artists and a couple of newer and exclusive tracks such as: 3rd Bass - Product Of The Environment (Marley Marl Remix) House Of Pain - Jump Around (Pete Rock Remix) Group Home - Suspended In Time The Beatnuts - Hit Me With That Pack FM - Great God Asterisk 4 John Robinson feat Peter Hadar - Mascot Lakim Shabazz - Lots Of Lovin King Sun - Be Black

Return To The BoomBox Radio Podcast 8/23/08 - Friction & A-Alikes Bring The Revolution To A Speaker Near You Today's show brought together several artists from different locations with similar goals in mind: counteract the negative messages against oppressed minorities and feed people the truth of society's ills through music. Many topics were hit upon as emcees Friction, Ness & K and DJ Scan Elohem all sat together with each other for the first time and exchanged thoughts and facts. This first half focuses more on their music and how they view the Hip Hop genre currently, and there is a lot of food for thought here.
