Revelizations

Revelizations is a podcast where I will sit down with interesting people about interesting topics and have interesting conversations. Sound interesting? The topics will be eclectic, big and small such as finding joy, different philosophies about the origins of the universe, for profit prisons, math why it’s cool and how it helps unlock the mysteries of the universe, different models of educating a population, how to have difficult conversations whether you are offering consolation or having a conversation to establish good faith, artificial intelligence, the effects of social media on culture, nutrition, cognitive biases in decision making, and so much more. The only limiting factor is our own curiosity. Oh, and occasionally I will have episodes where I offer my own insight, Revelizations, about truths that I have found to be profound and worth sharing. Thanks for joining me and I look forward to our journey to understanding the world around us just a little bit better.

Revelizations 12 - Good News, Whether You Want to Hear It or Not

Today I want to share a few positive stories. Stories that I would have otherwise never have known about if I didn't go out of my way to seek them out. Since they made my day slightly brighter, I'd like to share them with you in hopes they do the same for you.   Announcement My wife and I will be moving sometime in the near future. Could be next month, could be in 3 months. As such, priorities are going to be shifting a little to start preparing and packing for the move. So, I wanted to let you know that the frequency of upcoming Revelization episodes may be a bit irregular until we are moved and settled into our new place. Once that happens, I'll get back into the rhythm of releasing an episode every other week. Thanks for your understanding and patience.   Enjoying Revelizations and don't know what to do next? Let me offer a suggestion: Grab a device capable of playing a podcast along with some earbuds, turn on an episode of Revelizations, place them in the ears of your loved ones, and watch with joy as they thank you endlessly for introducing them to the Revelizations podcast. While you're at it feel free to leave a review on whatever platform you're listening and follow/subscribe so you never miss an episode.   Not enjoying Revelizations and don't know what you do next? Revelizations 7 - In the Wake of a Turning Point

On September 10, 2025 Charlie Kirk was assassinated. He was the founder and president of turning point USA, a grassroots conservative organization. He was a husband, father, and follower of Christ. There were many reactions to the murder of Charlie Kirk. Some people celebrated, some people mourned, some people were silenced, and some people made calls to violence just to name a few. It's all of these responses that beg the question in me, how would Charlie Kirk want his supporters, loved ones, even the government, to respond to his murder? Would he want retaliation, an eye for an eye? Would he want to see the United States erupt into violence over his death, or would he want people to respond differently? Unfortunately, we don't get to ask him how he would want us to move forward from his death. However, I believe he did leave instructions behind by the way he chose to live his life and in the teachings of his faith on how we can act in the wake of this turning point. On today's episode of Revelizations I will be looking at the fallout from Charlie Kirk's death and ways for those who were his family, friends, and admirers to respond in a way that honors his legacy and hopefully brings down the cultural temperature. Thanks for listening everyone.   Social media references Why Charlie Kirk believed in the importance of conversation - https://www.youtube.com/shorts/urN56M9hn0I   How did Charlie Kirk want to be remembered - https://www.youtube.com/shorts/VYGIWImgEOY   Erica Kirk forgiving her husband's murderer - Erika Kirk on husband’s assassin, ‘I forgive him’   Biblical References  Old Testament An Eye for an Eye - Leviticus 24:17-22 ESV An Eye for an Eye 17 “Whoever takes a human life shall surely be put to death. 18 Whoever takes an animal's life shall make it good, life for life. 19 If anyone injures his neighbor, as he has done it shall be done to him, 20 fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; whatever injury he has given a person shall be given to him. 21 Whoever kills an animal shall make it good, and whoever kills a person shall be put to death. 22 You shall have the same rule for the sojourner and for the native, for I am the Lord your God.”   New Testament An Eye for an Eye Jesus' Sermon on the Mount - Mathew 5:38-48 ESV Retaliation 38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ 39 But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40 And if anyone would sue you and take your tunic,[h] let him have your cloak as well. 41 And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. 42 Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you. Love Your Enemies 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet only your brothers,[i] what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48 You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.   Jesus rebukes his disciple for violence - Luke 22:49-51 ESV 49 When Jesus’ followers saw what was going to happen, they said, “Lord, should we strike with our swords?” 50 And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear. 51 But Jesus answered, “No more of this!” And he touched the man’s ear and healed him.   A servant is not better than his master - John 15:18-25 ESV The Hatred of the World 18 “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. 21 But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have been guilty of sin,[a] but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 Whoever hates me hates my Father also. 24 If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin, but now they have seen and hated both me and my Father. 25 But the word that is written in their Law must be fulfilled: ‘They hated me without a cause.’   Jesus came for sinners not the righteous - Luke 5:27-32 ESV Jesus Calls Levi 27 After this he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax booth. And he said to him, “Follow me.” 28 And leaving everything, he rose and followed him. 29 And Levi made him a great feast in his house, and there was a large company of tax collectors and others reclining at table with them. 30 And the Pharisees and their scribes grumbled at his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” 31 And Jesus answered them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 32 I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.”       Enjoying Revelizations and don't know what to do next? Revelization 2 - Black Holes and Popcorn

For at least half a century physicists have been searching for a unifying theory of everything. An equation that will explain the entire universe in a single equation. What I'm willing to go on the record to call a noble pursuit but a fool's errand nonetheless. For too long I have sat on the sidelines and let the greatest minds flounder in vain. No longer. My silence on the subject is ending. Today I take charge of the ship and steer it back on the right course. I am excited to announce that I have discovered the evasive unifying theory of black holes and popcorn. By putting forward my own research, I believe this will help advance the expedition to better understand the cosmos, but more importantly, ourselves. Join me on today's episode of Revelization as we explore everything from deep space to the deep recesses of the human psyche. Thanks for listening. ABOUT THIS SHOW
