Sean Kingston and his mom were recently convicted on multiple fraud charges for stealing over $1 million dollars from several business. EP86: Justin Bieber’s Crashout & Hailey’s 10-Year Plot
Hailey Bieber might be the only girl to have succeeded in dating her celebrity crush (in our generation, anyway). Is it even worth it though if you have to go through all that effort just to get him to like you? We don’t entirely believe the rumours about the drama, but you can’t deny some stuff is weird. Like Justin saying on The Ellen Show that in hindsight he believes it was an arranged marriage. We break down the drama in this episode & talk about why forcing your partnerships is bad! :D

Well, she’s a rapper now and is currently in a feud with Alabama Barker, Travis Barker’s daughter (and Kourtney Kardashian’s step-daughter). In this episode, we talk about their diss tracks, Kanye and the Kardashians involvement, and how Bhad Bhabie’s ex Le Vaughn is a major factor in this drama. We will say it is pretty entertaining. Catch us Monday for another interview with a Saskatchewan based rap/r&b/aftobeats artist! (Too be announced)

EP83: Emilia Pérez
Lots of questions surrounding this movie…specifically, “why?”. Emilia Pérez has been cleaning up nearly every award category in not just the recent Oscars, but the Academy Awards, Cannes, and other festivals. Despite its recognition with the different committees, though, it’s received tons of backlash since it’s become available to audiences. Some criticisms include racist stereotypes of Mexican culture, tokenism when it comes to trans people, and no one from the movie utilizing their platform to actually speak about trans-rights/issues

EP82: Why Is It Illegal To Communicate With Dolphins??
We just found out that in the U.S., it is illegal to communicate with dolphins?! Aside from not wanting to harass or harm the wildlife, there are theories that they have information about alien life in the ocean?? Join in on our conversation about this fascinating animal!

EP79: The TikTok Ban in America
Okay honestly, what is HAPPENING in the world right now? Specifically in the States. Are you guys okay?? We know most of our listeners live there (thx analytics). We live in Canada, but right now there is tons of concern from countries outside of the US about what's going on...most notably from Germany...which is not a good sign. In this episode we talk about the TikTok ban in America that happened for less than a day after significant public pushback, as well as some other stuff they've been banning- like books and restricting the public from learning about LGBTQ rights or gendered social norms. Remember folks!! Knowledge is power!! Read, listen, write, protest! Most importantly, pay attention to where your money is going and what it's funding! Power to the people b!tches.

EP77: "It Ends With Us" Ends in Court
Where are the intimacy coordinators when you need them?! Also, what is up with dudes lying about being feminists to gain validation from women/attention? Wouldn't it make more sense to actually be nice and respectful towards women if you want that? Lots of questions, as we're sure you all have too. We provide some updates to the legal case and the alleged muti-billion dollar SLANDER plot conspired against Blake Lively by Mr. Justin Bald-guy himself. (woooooahhhh...)

EP76: Aliens? (The New Jersey Drones & Plasma Balls)
Okay but actually??? Does anybody know??? In this episode we talk about the New Jersey drone sightings that have been happening since early December, and the plasma balls that have begun to appear with them (that have been seen DEACTIVATING the drones when they fly close to them). What is going on. Would you meet an alien? We would?? Maybe?? Apparently they’re coming out of the ocean?

EP75: We Found Luigi Mangione’s Spotify
If you haven’t heard of Luigi Mangione…where have you been? The anti-hero of America’s social media accounts, including his Spotify, offer an interesting view into his mindset prior to the shooting. Whether you agree with his vigilante Justice or not, we can all agree that healthcare in the US needs a rehaul. And that Luigi’s got great music taste. Having immigrated from Nigeria, Zochi talks about how her immigrating prompted her to re-find her identity as a queer woman outside of the restrictive anti-LGBTQ laws in her home country. Zochi has been featured in many articles, played on international radio stations, and during all of this has remained faithful as she found her footing in Canada. We’re so happy she came in!! EP72: Anti-Intellectualism: Is It Dumb?
Anti-Intellectualism actually isn’t as ground-breaking as you think it is- in fact, it kind of just makes you easier to manipulate BY establishment you think you’re protesting. In this episode we ever a bit from pop culture and discuss the movement of anti-intellectualism, which is the movement away from education. Us, as students, don’t believe education should be pushed as hard as it is for some people/things, but we also think it is really needed. We talk about how the movement started, people arguments for and against it, and our own thoughts on it (as always).Be sure to check us out live in 91.3 CJTR as well! We hung out for a bit after the interview with Marz and talked about a new sub-genre of horror that’s begun to come out within the past few years, which is feminist horror movies. EP70: Marz Gebhart Interview
We interviewed Marz Gebhart at the end of last month, a local screenwriter and director :) she’s most known for her work with Amy Swallow on her music videos (“Heroin(e) Hypocrite”, most notably). She is also a local screenwriter and is currently studying through the Toronto Film School after completing her Bachelor’s Degree in English (Honours) at the University of Regina in 2022. EP69: “The Substance”, directed by Coralie Fargeat
Huuuugeeeee spoiler alert with this one- honestly, unless we say otherwise, just assume that if we’re talking about a movie there will be some. “The Substance” is another feminist horror movie we got to see recently. It has a lot of themes surrounding the psychological effects of the beauty industry and the idolization of youth, and that’s about all we can say in the description without giving the whole plot away lol. If you haven’t seen it yet, go watch it- it’s free with a 7-day free trial on Mubi- and then come back :)

EP68: “Woman of the Hour”, directed by Anna Kendrick
*Spoiler Warning*This trend of feminist horror movies is something we’re living for, honestly. Recently we went to go see Anna Kendrick’s “Woman of the Hour”, the first movie she’s ever directed! She also plays Cheryl in it, the bachelorette on “The Dating Show”- a game show from the 60’s that once hosted Rodney Alcala, a notorious American serial killer who would pose as a photographer to unsuspecting womenHere’s the storyline as according to IMDB: “Woman of the Hour is based on the stranger-than-fiction true story of Cheryl Bradshaw and Rodney Alcala. Bradshaw was a bachelorette on the hit '70s TV matchmaking show The Dating Game and chose handsome and funny bachelor No. 3, Rodney Alcala. But behind Alcala's charming facade was a deadly secret: He was a psychopathic serial killer.”

EP67: Annaxis Interview
At the end of the month last month, we had the opportunity to interview Annaxis while she stopped in Regina to perform! We can’t get over how driven, cool, and educated this girl is- and she’s only 19?! Dude, we are so impressed. Anna Hunter is a self-described “Kate Bush enthusiast” hailing from Winnipeg, which is apparently flatter than Saskatchewan. Her music can be described as a mix of punk, post-punk, and Kate Bush influences. We wish we had gotten the chance to see her perform but unfortunately we were both working, so hopefully Anna will make her way back over again sometime soon :)

EP66: Why Feminism Needs Men
Little bit different from our usual episodes, but we like to switch it up sometimes! And before we are radio or podcast hosts, we are women! Without other feminists who came before us, we wouldn’t have a lot of the same choices and freedoms we have today. Lots of men tend to steer away from feminism because they tend to believe that feminism = “we hate men”. The truth is, feminism needs men’s support to work because of the unequal power structures in lots of patriarchal societies. In this episode we talk about hegemonic masculinity and how it negatively affects not just women, but also men and their perceptions of themselves.

EP65: Ashton Kutcher’s Friendship With P Diddy
We just have to keep talking about all the P Diddy stuff honestly because?!?! I mean, we kind of expected it, but did anyone think it was THIS bad? Ashton Kutcher is currently getting a divorce with Mila Kunis (initiated by her possibility?) and he was best friends with Diddy. And he had an organization against sex trafficking…? We talk about all that in here and more. We’ll also definitely be making some more episodes on this whole thing 👀

EP62: Wade Wilson, aka the New Ted Bundy
Convicted killer Wade Wilson has become a recognizable figure for his horrendous murders and good looks?? People are comparing him to the infamous serial killer Ted Bundy, because of the way he persuades women with his appearance. Wilson has been convicted of two cases of murder and has been sentenced to death. However, he has a dedicated fan base who are actively trying to reduce his sentence. In today’s episode, we take a look at Wilson’s past, the murders he has committed, and analyze his new online fan base. Disclaimer: This episode speaks on subjects such as sexual assault, physical and domestic violence, and murder.

EP61: The Rise of a Midwest Princess, Chappell Roan
Chappell Roan is one of the newest artists in pop music but she has already made a significant impact. How crazy is it that a queer artist, writing about the queer experience, has been consistently topping the charts since early 2024? This would not have been the case even just a couple decades ago. We love her music, her persona as an artist, and the fact that she’s not afraid to speak her mind on issues (considering most artists are almost forced to remain civil even when being disrespected).

EP60: Karma’s a Bitch…Only if It’s Jojo Siwa
Does this even need a description? If you haven’t seen Jojo Siwa on your timeline, where have you been for the past year? Everything we know about her is stuff we’ve found out unwillingly. Taking a closer look though, it’s (tbh) kind of sad. Jojo Siwa is a child star who has never known what it means to be a normal kid. Could this contribute to the cringe? Potentially (likely, yes). We talk about the effects of fame on children, Jojo Siwa’s sympathies for groomers, and of course, Abby Lee Miller. Check us out every Monday on 91.3FM CJTR from 6-7pm CST for our radio show, where we play a lot of female artists/female-fronted groups, and interview local creatives :) if you can’t listen in live, CJTR has streaming on their website!Rhinestone Cowboy’s Instagram: www.instagram.com/rhinestonecowboypodCJTR’s website: https://cjtr.ca

EP58: “It Ends With Us”, Blake Lively’s Disconnect, & A Love Triangle?
“It Ends With Us” is a New York Times bestselling novel by Colleen Hoover, but has recently been made into a film by the same name. Directed by Justin Baldini, he plays the husband of the main character, “Lily Blossom Bloom” (played by Blake Lively). Despite the book being known to have helped tons of d*mestic v*olence survivors globally, there’s been a lot of controversy surrounding the movie itself, its marketing, and the actual cast and crew. We talk about all these nuances as well as our own opinions on the movie + the controversy in this week’s episode :)Be sure to check us out on 91.3 FM CJTR, Regina Community Radio where you can find full episodes of the radio show we do every Monday 6-7pm CST, as well as tons of other great volunteer hosts!
