I got to talk with Kimiko and Paige from M.A.R.E. Therapeutic Riding Center about their upcoming Diamonds and Denim fundraising gala. This gala helps benefit services that M.A.R.E. uses to assist children, adults, and veterans with physical, emotional, and cognitive challenges. This is a wonderful organization!

The wonderful Jennifer Henry from Links for Life discusses the upcoming events that help fund the organization's efforts against breast cancer.

I got to talk with Mandie Mazer from Tunnel to Towers, a run and walk to honor our first responders and to benefit the Stephen Siller Foundation. This run/walk helps take care of first responders by providing smart homes and also helps with families of those lost while on the job.

Ryan Martinez stops by to discuss the Contreras Foundation's tri-annual meeting. This elects new board members and sets plans in motion for what the organization looks to do for future events and educational opportunities.

I got to talk with Leslie Hernandez and the rest of the young ladies behind Teen for Jeans, who are holding their third annual event to help benefit clothing donations to local youth.

I got to talk to Patrick Spurlock, one of the hardest working people in Bakersfield. We discussed upcoming art exhibits in town, his work with Phantom Stranger, Inc., as well as the importance of the growing art and music scenes in Kern County.

I had the pleasure of talking with Cherie Shoemake from Optimal Hospice about their annual kids camp. This camp is for children who have experienced the loss of loved one and is free to attend. The organization continues to do amazing, kind work in the community and this is just one of the ways they are helping.

I got to discuss Mental Health Awareness Month with Roger Perez from Behavioral Health and Recovery Services in Kern County. We discuss events for the month of May, but also general facts, support, and services that are offered year round for mental health.

I got to talk to a couple of heroes of mine again-Michael J. Nelson and Bill Corbett of Rifftrax and Mystery Science Theater 3000! We talked about the upcoming "trilogy" of films they'll be riffing LIVE, how they pick which movies to do, and I make things weird because that is what I do.

Library Assistant Ariel Dyer discusses programs offered by the Kern County Library in the spring and summer. These programs are inclusive to both children and adults and involve reading programs, summer lunches, entertainment, and workshops!

I got to talk with Christie and Stacey about the work they are doing to help raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Christie is looking to raise funds to specifically benefit the area of pediatrics as possible Woman of the Year through the society.

V-Day is back in Bakersfield and Guinevere PH Dethlefson joined me to discuss the event's new venue, charities that will benefit from the night, and what new directions this year tradition will go in reaching audiences.
