Corey shares about tackling a tricky climb during her latest rock climbing endeavor, while Tracy discusses having been convinced multiple times to “not burn it all down” after a horrible breakup. All in all, they both agree that they grew up feeling a lot like the kid’s inflatable bottom-weighted “punching” bag from their childhood, in that getting up after a setback was not an option; you just pop right back. Both share that you have to feel the feelings and then move on, and that stillness for extended periods of time can keep you in a place of unnecessary suffering. Corey talks about how letting go of the pain of her mom’s death was not her letting go of her mom, and Tracy shares about how harboring guilt only keeps us stuck. Hear about the strategies she used to get unstuck from heartbreak, including using ChatGPT to deepen her understanding of herself. While Nadine shares what helped her get unstuck, it took a while for her to learn that the only person that can give you closure is you. Far more profound than Corey’s learning that love crystals don’t work for her to unstick herself from heartbreak, and talking to a tree seemed to go nowhere for Tracy. Tune in for great tips and inspiration if you feel like you are stuck in the healing process from a breakup! Show Notes: Attachment Styles-Learn more about attachment styles – how they are formed and how they might impact your relationships. This episode might be more aptly called “Don’t Should on Me!” . . . even if only to make Tracy laugh. Listen in as we explore the many “shoulds” that impact stuckness. Whether they are based on logic, ego preservation, fear disguised as intuition, regret, or the idea that things “could” be worse, shoulds come in all forms – internal chatter, societal expectations, others’ opinions, trauma, comparison, and even unfinished past life business. S10. Episode 2: Why We Stay Stuck

Maybe it’s fear of failure or being dreamless, or fear of judgment or losing something . . . or perhaps it’s self-limiting beliefs or feeling overwhelmed by change. Regardless, we find ways to stay stuck. Some are real, and some are imagined. Some are external, and some are self-inflicted. Some hold us back from our dreams, and some keep us from leaving good situations only to become stuck in worse ones. Tracy discusses why, despite it being a dream of hers, going to med school at her age would make her stuck – a schedule she wouldn’t like, debt, and having to work longer to pay back loans, whereas Corey points out that sometimes being stuck for a short time, like when she took her job as a junior professor, can result in even better outcomes in the long-term, like getting promoted and earning tenure. Both agreed that you have to weigh the costs. Don’t try to unstick yourself to become even more stuck! But, don’t avoid getting unstuck just because you are fearful or hesitant of what the future could be! S9. Episode 3: Preparing for Divorce

It’s hard to prepare for divorce – the emotions, the logistics, the legalities. There is a lot to balance. Listen in as Tracy shares her thoughts on balancing these competing roles, and Corey chimes in with how emotional it can be to divide assets that have meaning, like signing over the title to the car.
