Episode 7: Table Talk - Spread Love, Joy, and Compassion
I successfully recorded five women sitting at a table, eating delicious snacks, discussing the weight of the world, while wholly and completely enjoying a conversation set in the vulnerability of what it means to be a woman in a capitalist and patriarchal society. I was able to shift the metaphor of the recording from chaotic failure and trepidation to the beauty of chaos. The women you will hear in this Table Talk episode are all women I met in a bar. Some of them have known each other for a while and some met each other for the first time on this very day of recording. You have already met myself, and Nathalie, who has since gone and done, “weird country shit,” and returned back to our neighborhood. And Beverly, who has shifted to investing in herself and continues to get older with grace, love and care. The ones you will meet today are Christene, who helped me arrange the recording event and used her skills to plan and prepare a delicious menu. Megan, who has since become one of my very best friends who I talk to or see nearly every day. The conversation began by Beverly posing this question to the group, how do I get out of my head? I hope you enjoy it!
