Their debut album Silent Alarm was the first album I ever got for myself. Their music was notably different from all the music I had heard thus far, and I was enamored especially by their song So Here We Are. The song remains a favorite of mine to this day. But it would be wrong of me to claim that this track started out as a deliberate homage to the band that largely shaped my musical taste into what it is today. Rather this track started as a question in my head whilst working the night shift: " I wonder if I could make a half-decent alt-rock track."
