  1. 34

Episode 34: The Autopsy of Jane Doe

In this episode, we watch The Autopsy of Jane Doe, where the main antagonist is a motionless corpse and in which Bryan Cranston DOES NOT STAR, but there is an avant-garde version of this movie where Walter White suddenly starts having a very bad time. Support the show

  2. 33

    Episode 33: Attachment (2022)

This week, Cyrus and Katie tackle Attachment (2022), a Danish/Jewish/queer horror/romance (that's a lot of slashes) that begs the question: can a mother be too overprotective if her child is possessed by an evil spirit? Our sources say yes, but only if it interferes with her U-Haul Lesbian Dreams.Support the show

  3. 32

    Episode 32: 47 Meters Down - Uncaged (2019)

Heeeeeeeello buddies and welcome to SHARK WEEK - no, wait, shark DAY, the day we watch a really bad shark movie and complain about it. 47 Meters Down: Uncaged asks the question "what if a bunch of scantily clad teenagers were in a submerged Mayan city and also a shark was there and the shark was blind" which is kind of a hat on a hat, or maybe a hat on a shark. Support the show

  4. 31

    Episode 31: ATM (2012)

You know what's scary? BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG winter coat. This week Cyrus and Katie watched ATM, a movie about three stockbrokers who get trapped inside a parking lot ATM by a murderer in a parka. This movie has a 12% on Rotten Tomatoes, but Cyrus makes a passionate case for why it should maybe have more like, a 25%. Support the show

  5. 30

Episode 30: An American Werewolf in London (1981)

This week, Cyrus and Katie cover classic werewolf horror/comedy, An American Werewolf in London (1981)! If you're even tangentially into horror, you've probably heard of this one, and for good reason - it's got dong, nazis, body horror, annoyed ghosts, real live wolves, and a man with the longest and most beautiful eyelashes we've ever seen. Support the show

  6. 29

    Episode 29: Ash (2025)

This week, we dig into Ash, a sci-fi horror movie that...tried its best? A movie that is aesthetically pleasing, does some cool stuff with goo, but ultimately suffers from a potent mixture of cliches and the male gaze. Also discussed are how much we want there to be more ugly and unlikeable women in horror movies, how hard it is to copy The Thing's homework successfully, and bisexual lighting. Support the show

  7. 28

    Episode 28: Caveat (2020)

Line jump! We couldn't wait to get to the C's before checking out Caveat. This movie was a fascinating puzzle box that doesn't spoon-feed you the answers, and we left it feeling befuddled in the best way possible--but the more we've thought about it afterward, the more the movie starts to open itself up. It was also written and directed by Damian McCarthy, who also wrote/directed Oddity! the man loves a weird prop and we love that for him. Support the show

  8. 27

    Episode 27: Arcadian (2024)

What happens when you mix a tarantula, a camel, and a starfish with Hungry Hungry Hippos, and then throw it at Nicolas Cage? You get Arcadian, the movie we watched this week! Don't get too excited, it also has annoying teen drama. But seriously, the aliens were pretty cool.Support the show

  9. 26

    Episode 26: Together (2025)

Hello friends! Katie has been sick as a dog for a li'l bit so today we present you with Together, a non-Shudder movie released last year that we both really, really liked! Turns out making movies about marriage *with* your spouse leads to chemistry, nuance, and penis de-gloving. We were super into it. Support the show

  10. 25

Episode 25: Anything for Jackson (2020)

Did you know they got good movies on Shudder? I sure didn't! This week, Cyrus and Katie tackle Anything For Jackson (2020), a film about parenting, grandparenting, satanism, and dental hygiene. Discussion topics include our adolescent chickens, what a satanist is supposed to look like, and our overall enjoyment of what was just a really good movie.Support the show

  11. 24

Episode 24: Antrum: The Deadliest Film Ever Made (2018)

Hello buddies, be careful listening to this episode, for this is Shudder Buddies: the Deadliest Podcast Ever Made! All who listen to it perish!!!! This week we cover mockumentary Antrum (2018), which paints itself as a documentary about a cursed or possessed film. It's...sort of successful? Support the show

  12. 23

Episode 23: The Angry Black Girl and her Monster (2023)

This week, Cyrus and Katie cover The Angry Black Girl and her Monster (2023), a retelling of Mary Shelleys classic horror novel 'Frankenstein' through a modern urban lens! This film asks a lot of difficult questions, revels in a little bit of gore, and finally lets us in on what happens when a man and a machete love each other very much. Also discussed are our scaredy-cat chickens, disappointment with GDT's 2025 Frankenstein, and valid hatred of Tom Cruise. https://baltimorebeat.com/the-angry-black-girl-and-her-monster-is-a-frankenstein-myth-for-our-times/https://nerdist.com/article/the-angry-black-girl-and-her-monster-review-based-on-mary-shelley-frankenstein-bomani-j-story-trauma-systemic-violence/https://weliveentertainment.com/welivefilm/angry-black-girl-her-monster-review/https://culturalgutter.com/2023/10/19/bomani-j-storys-the-angry-black-girl-and-her-monster-and-the-exploration-of-trauma/Support the show

  13. 22

    Episode 22: Amigo (2019)

It's a real brutal one this week, buddies! We watched Amigo, a 2019 Spanish film starring Javier Botet and David Pareja, and BOY HOWDY was it good. And devastating. But so good. Also, on the complete opposite end of the spectrum, Cyrus published some erotica! And that's about the only play that the H in our BASH scale gets this episode. Support the show

  14. 21

    Episode 21: Grafted (2024)

A line jump today, but a Shudder movie, so therefore no one can criticize us! This week, Katie and Cyrus chat Grafted (2024), a New Zealand body horror movie that has a lot going for it in concept and not quite as much going for it in execution. Also mentioned are our enormous chickens and their enormous poops. Fair warning. Support the show

  15. 20

    Episode 20: 2025 In Review

We're back after a longer winters nap and ready to talk about out favorite horror films of 2025! Unsurprisingly, we had a lot of overlap. Also unsurprisingly, Katie threatens to throw down with another director in a parking lot. Things will not be changing in 2026.Support the show

  16. 19

Episode 19: All The Creatures Were Stirring (2018)

What is it with us and anthologies? This week, Cyrus and Katie tackle 'All The Creatures Were Stirring', a 2018 Christmas-themed horror anthology that begs the question "should some movies maybe just not get made?" and then answers itself with a resounding "yes". Other topics of discussion include our plan for the month of December, our never-ending quest to find good YouTube horror shorts, and Katie's fondest Christmas wish: to fight Stephen Cognetti in a parking lot. Support the show

  17. 18

    Episode 18: Possession (1981)

Hello buddies, it's time for another line-skip, this time up to the P's to watch 1981 cult classic Possession starring Sam Neil and Isabella Adjani as two people who perhaps should not be married to one another, goo monster not withstanding. Support the show

  18. 17

Episode 17: All 10 Saw Movies!

Whoah, these aren't Shudder movies! Please enjoy this re-release of our ALL TEN SAW bonersode! Should we do another bonersode about the SAW escape room? We beefed it soooo badly. Support the show

Episode 16: The Perfect Game (FINALE)

BUDDIES, WE DID IT. The game was perfect, your hosts are nearly dead, but we have worshiped daily at the altar of horror from the dawn of October 1st to the midnight hour of Halloween. In our final episode on our October lineup, we discuss these movies: Smile 2 (2024), Ju-On (2003), Carrie (1976), Terrified (2017), Killer Klowns From Outer Space (1988), Frankenstein (2025), You're Next (2011), Midsommar (2019), and Rec (2007). Support the show

Episode 15: The Perfect Game (Part 3)

The end of the perfect game is near! Can you believe it? It's HALLOWEEN, the greatest day of the year, and yeah we are having a SAW themed halloween party. We had some club bangers and some absolute duds in this batch, so let's get into it! Covered in this stretch of TPG are Strange Darling (2023), Scream 2 (1997), Alien: Romulus (2024), Cabin in the Woods (2012), Dawn of the Dead (2004), and Satanic Hispanics (2022). Support the show

Episode 14: The Perfect Game (Part 2)

Wellllll hello buddies welcome back to THE PERFECT GAME and this week, Katie is...sick as a dog, and oh boy does it show. With one half of our dynamic podcasting duo functioning at about 30%, we do our best to muddle through the next seven movies in our Perfect Game (tm): Pet Sematary (1989), Scream (1996), Prometheus (2012), Hell House LLC (2015), Slither (2006),  The Descent (2005) and Trick 'r Treat (2007).Support the show

  22. 13

Episode 13: The Perfect Game (Part 1)

Welcome Buddies, to THE PERFECT GAME. And yeah, it's slowly killing us a little bit, but we'll do anything in pursuit of The Bit. For the first week of TPG, and yeah, it's got its own initialism, we watched the following: Little Shop of Horrors (1986), Calibre (2018), Hausu (1977), The Long Walk (2025), Child's Play (1990), Host (2020) and V/H/S/ Halloween (2025). That's so many movies, but fear not, we have sooooo many opinions. Support the show

  23. 12

Episode 12: Road Trip Round Up

We're back! After a brief hiatus in the desert, Katie and Cyrus triumphantly return to regale our precious listeners with tales of all the horror properties we watched on our vacation - Alien Earth S1E1 (2025), Alien: Covenant (2017), The Ritual (2017), and The Night House (2020). Also included are the plans for the rest of October,m our "perfect game", and weird transatlantic announcer accents. Support the show

  24. 11

Episode 11: All You Need Is Death (2023)

This week, Cyrus and Katie sit down for a movie with that starts out promising and turns into a total disjointed trainwreck - not unlike this podcast! All You Need Is Death (2023) has everything - affairs, folk music, an old lady in a cupboard, shadow monsters, gender weirdness, and PUPPETS. Come on down and shame Cyrus for being a hiking pervert, listen to our hot takes about bad movie titles, and where to get yourself a Temu vaginoplasty. Support the show

  25. 10

Episode 10: Alligator (1980) and Alligator II: The Mutation (1991), and also Crawl (2019)

A pet baby alligator is flushed down a toilet and survives in the city sewers. Twelve years later, it grows to an enormous size thanks to a diet of discarded laboratory dogs injected with growth hormones. Now, humans have entered the menu.Horror movies can be about a lot of things - grief, loneliness, change, the unknown - but sometimes, horror is about a scary thing being REALLY, REALLY BIG. Alligator is a movie that says "the alligator is very scary in its natural habitat, so let's take it out of that habitat and have it just sort of gingerly waddle around a scale model of a city". It's a movie with 3/5ths of an alligator puppet, a lead actor with a rapidly receding hairline, and a really very bad sequel. We also talk briefly about Crawl, which was actually decently scary, if you're scared of alligators, which Katie, unfortunately, is. Support the show

  26. 9

Episode 09: The Ugly Stepsister (2025)

Determined to outshine her beautiful stepsister, Elvira resorts to extreme measures to win the prince's heart in this dark re-imagining of the Cinderella fairy tale. We're jumping to the U's for a second to bring you guys Den Stygge Stesøsteren (2025) - The Ugly Stepsister for us English speakers, and this one is a DOOZY. Y'all, this one is so good. It's so gross. It's so good and so gross. A beautiful body horror nightmare that had us literally squirming in our seats and nauseated just thinking about some of the scenes. Love that for us. Also mentioned are the SAW escape room, children's literature academic Maria Tatar, and how many wieners and buttholes should be in Cinderella. Support the show

  27. 8

    Episode 08: Allegoria (2022)

A group of artists' lives become unwittingly entangled as their obsessions and insecurities manifest monsters, demons, and death. We're back in it buddies, this time with Allegoria (2022), an anthology movie directed by a man named SPIDER ONE and if that's not enough to get you interested, well, we're just wildly different people then. This week, Cyrus and Katie pick apart this low-budget anthology piece and while it's a little unfocused, we liked it's solid acting and decent dialogue! Come by to hear about our chicken woes, our beef with Wikipedia, and the ballad of Mr. Crispy Marshmallow. Support the show

  28. 7

Episode 07: All The Moons (2020)

"During the final throes of the last Carlist war, a little girl is rescued from an orphanage by a mysterious woman who lives deep inside the forest."All The Moons is a Basque film, and the first vampire movie to be covered on Shudder Buddies (if you don't count our bonersode on Sinners (2025), which I do not) and it's....well, it's a slow, contemplative, meditative take on the vampiric condition. Beautifully shot, well-acted, well-cast, and from a region we knew very little about, this movie has a lot to recommend! It's a little bit of a slog for our tastes, but we're big horny dummies who like our movies full of blood covered titties, so, we're probably the ones who are in the wrong here. Support the show

  29. 6

    Episode 06: Aenigma (1987)

"The spirit of a comatose teen girl possesses the body of a newcomer to her girls boarding school to enact bloody revenge against the elitist, lingerie-clad coeds responsible for her condition."Cyrus and Katie get into their first Giallo this week with Aenigma, a Fulci joint that is wild. Snails, evil statues, telekinesis - Aenigma has it all, buuuuuut kind of underdelivers on its main premise. And on the lingerie-clad coeds. We were promised lingerie-clad coeds!!! Still, come and join us for an intensely 80's movie made in Bosnia by an Italian about a boarding school in America. Support the show

  30. 5

    Episode 05: 825 Forest Road (2025)

"Chuck Wilson hopes to start a new life after a family tragedy when he moves to the town of Ashland Falls with his wife Maria and little sister Elizabeth, but he quickly discovers that the town has a dark secret."Listen, buddies. We knew there'd be some duds in here - we didn't expect quite so big a stinker so early on, but hey, that's life. This week, Cyrus and Katie tackle a movie so incredibly bad they can't even dredge up 30 minutes worth of content about it. A movie trying to make a point about mental illness, but can neither stick the landing nor the lift-off nor any part in between. Support the show

  31. 4

    Episode 04: 32 Malasaña Street (2020)

"The Olmedo family leaves the countryside to lead a comfortable life and earn more in Madrid, unaware that their new house holds eerie surprises at every corner."There's few things worse than a movie with a lot of potential that ends up magnificently putting its foot in the ectoplasm. This week Cyrus and Katie touch on the things this 2020 Spanish horror film did decently well, and then spend most of the episode groaning about the transphobia and ableism. Horror is a fantastic genre to explore some of the most troubling aspects of society, but buddies, this ain't it.Support the show

  32. 3

    Episode 03: 13 Ghosts (1960) / 13 Ghosts (2001)

"A family inherits a house with 12 ghosts who want a 13th."This week, Cyrus and Katie watch the William Castle classic about a house full of ghosts and the family who is forced to cohabitate with them. This movie has everything - a real actual lion, the Swedish Chef from the Muppets, death bed the bed that eats people, and a horror movie that answers the question: do horror movie husbands be sleepin'? They sure do. We also cover the ""remake"" from 2001, and had a hell of a time doing it. Matthew Lillard and F. Murray Abraham? Our cups runneth over. Support the show

  33. 2

    Episode 02: 0.0MHz (2019)

"Terror strikes when amateur ghost hunters explore a haunted house in the countryside."Well, Katie spends the whole episode calling this one "0.00mhz", which is incorrect, so we're off to a terrific start. This week, our intrepid buddies check out a Korean horror movie that begs the question "is anything scarier than lots of gross wet hair?". In the episode we discuss Korean shamanism, the differences between eastern and western ghost tropes, and how good of a movie Exhuma (2024) was. Seriously, go watch it. Support the show
