Sipping with the Segarras

A podcast where a husband and wife finally take a moment of their time away from their kids to just chat! Cosplaying as an Adult/Parent

We just attended the 2024 NYCC and like last year we dressed up.  We wanted to take you through our thoughts on cosplaying and expressing ourselves in our costumes as adults and in our case as Parents.   Cosplaying has been a way for us to display our love for characters in our favorite shows/anime and a way for us not to be just Mom and Dad.  The creative process turning these fictional characters to real life form are extensive and expensive but are so rewarding in the end.  We try to explain the experience you get cosplaying in a convention compared to an evening out or dressing up for Halloween. Where do we feel more comfortable, and how are we show respect when we are in a vulnerable state when cosplaying? So think of your favorite character, use your creativity to bring them to life, and enjoy a day out cosplaying with us.Let us know what you think!

    Time to talk Anime (Finally)

It took us a while to get here, but finally, an episode on Anime! Anime plays a big role in the Segarra household as both love and relate closely with a wide range of animes and their characters. We've both had people in our lives who have helped develop their love for anime and since we have been together, we have shared in that love.  This is just to first of more Anime content to come in the future, but in this episode we discuss each others top 5 anime, what anime we (love to) hate and what has just completely lost our interest.  If you are a part of the new era of anime fans, welcome to the dark side. If you have been an otaku for as long as you can remember, welcome new friend. Grab your strawberry milks, check out our suggestions, and join in the conversation.Let us know what you think!

ABOUT THIS SHOW

A podcast where a husband and wife finally take a moment of their time away from their kids to just chat! We find that most of the day we end up talking enough to know exactly what each one of us has done, that when we are together there isn't much to talk about. This podcast is a way for us two to sit down and talk about anything and everything from tv shows, movies, and video games to more life focused topics like parenting, intimacy, anxieties, and more. Episodes may include guest to give their thoughts on certain topics. We hope you will sit down and join us for a conversation and drink in hand.
