January 29, 2022 Doug Castleton passed from this life this week. This special Snarrly SunDee episode is dedicated to his memory. It is a raw recording outside of the typical format for this podcast. We recorded it as Doug’s five grandsons, who are ages 11-13, spent the day in Provo, UT supporting Peter in his ballroom competition that day. We spent our time outside of the ballroom scene doing all things that reminded us of our beloved Grandpa. Rob (Doug’s son) and his partner Derek joined Ryan Snarr (son-in-law) in facilitating this special conversation.

We wrap up the final days of the Fun@41, we introduce Life FOUR TWO, and we break down all things COVID-19 from the vantage point of each family member.

We made it! One year’s worth of Snarrly SunDee chat episodes in podcast form. The Fun@41 calendar has been so fun to review. This week we talk about our humble beginnings, hats, ampersands (with lots of pronunciations), Becky’s birthday, stand up comedy, oatmeal cookies, Mother Goose, and being courageous. And you just might hear the bedroom intruder song (apologies to the young listeners out there since it is sung about a terrible break-in story). We talk chivalry, Earth Day, tickling, rainy days, thank you cards, flying kites and garage sales… or is it yard sales…

We start with Easter and end at a 20-year anniversary while making stops at jerseys, Towel Days, Titanic, Marathons and having a catch along the way. Special ‘20 Years track’ at the end by Bad Suns.

It’s Easter so why not start things off by talking about swearing and drawing? Peter gives a report on his 12th birthday, we talk Ferris Bueller, Oreos, Story time and spaghetti.

We talk about homework, class clowns, awkwardness, April Fool’s Day, Toys, Libraries, and drawing caricatures. Special thanks to this week’s guest, my long-time friend Doug Rose, who delights us with funny stories and meaningful experiences.

Staying alive while staying at home as we wait for the corona virus to pass by. This week we talk about drinking your water, OK, law enforcement appreciation (with special emphasis on crossing guards), waffles, math, the Navy and weeding the garden.

We talk Ides of March, firefighters, St. Patrick’s Day, good luck day, rainbows, neighbors and what makes you special. And we have our good neighbors the Brophy’s join us as special guests over the phone. All this while touching on social distancing to combat the spread of COVID-19 and what to do first in case of an earthquake!

We talk about the Coronavirus, but when we’re not talking bout that we talk about Google, getting over things, international women’s day, cub scouts, girl scouts, hula dancing and pie.

We talk peanut butter, trick shots, M&Ms, fast food, dental floss, dentists and Hawaiian shirts.

We talk bacon, ‘Just Do It’, 3-pointers, cold cereal, singing in the shower, oatmeal day, leap day and more… Lots of fighting about morning routines and other tangents as well. Won’t we be so happy to have these little quarrels recorded for posterity?

We talk peace, Mickey Mouse, spouses, scrapbooks, hellos, JFK, and news.

We discuss the Marines, veterans, homemade bread, Sadie Hawkins, recycling, cleaning the fridge, and philanthropy. Anna can’t stop giggling half the time and mom falls asleep half way through the chat.

It was only kids last week and this week it’s only the parents… in the closet! Ryan and Becky share their thoughts about sandwiches, food storage, science fiction, chili, home making, raking leaves and Atticus Finch.

The kids take over completely this week for a kids only episode. They chat safety, David S. Pumpkins, Halloween, make up and journals.

We talk do overs, scary movies, M&Ms, keeping change, art, and pumpkins.

This recording officially goes off the rails. It’s unsettling enough that Ryan has a post recording vent session with Becky to discuss the approach of the weekly recording. This is real life folks.

This week’s episode is a bit of a train wreck when it comes to focus and staying on topic. Then we discuss formal Friday and all of the sudden we begin to have an exciting conversation!

We’re loving September and every September Morn! This week we review Labor Day, favorite outfits, name tags, charity, cleaning our rooms and limericks. We also share what it’s like to ride a single ride at Lagoon 23 times.

We chat about love at first sight, dogs, college, listening, eating out, and we get a breakdown of Joshua's birthday festivities.

The close out song is title ‘Paddy Stole The Rope’ sung by Tim Hart. The author of the text is anonymous, but it is believed to have originated in Ireland in the early 1900s.

On this episode we get right into things talking about underwear. Our conversation about surfing turned more into a life jacket debate, and listen as we try to describe funny Far Side comics for our listening audience.

We get going right away talking about the Coast Guard, blondes, card games, passions, guitars pretty women and rhymes. Honestly, not our best chat. I think we started after all taking Sunday afternoon naps. Things nearly get testy!

The brothers speak!! Specials guests Rob, Derek, Lee, Nathan and John weigh in on cheese, Schwarzenegger, riddles, whistles, feet and watermelon. Surprise riddler credit goes to Brian, Maximo and Kale.

It’s Alyssa’s birthday and we celebrate it by talking Independence Day, hot dogs, and kissing!
