    Violet Murphy

Asyiqin chats to WAEVZ entertainment journalist, Violet Murphy, for her expert opinion on the rise of local R&B talent within the Australian music industry. Violet talks about the importance of local artist collaborations, she gushes over PANIA and producer Hamley as an example of this!  She identifies Australia's lack of support for work opportunities in the arts as a key barrier to the growth of local R&B and Soul artists! She proposes that the arts and entertainment industry must work more closely together, rather than opting for overseas opportunities! e.g. local artists travelling to the US for more record label and networking connections. Australian artists do everything themeselves, they find their own gig spots and they scout for producers. She calls for the government to allocate more funding to artist dedicated venues for our own live shows, overseas, those critical infastructures are already in place!  Does Violet Murphy think Melbourne has the taste for R&B?
