He’s an APA fellow and the editor in chief of the academic journals Evolutionary Psychology and Evolutionary Psychology Science. His research focuses on sexual psychology and behavior with a special focus on sexual conflict between men and women. Today we talk about the testability of evolutionary hypotheses. He’s also a cinephile and he’s written two books, the first being WHY IT’S OKAY TO LOVE BAD MOVIES and the second is called HARD TO WATCH: HOW TO FALL IN LOVE WITH DIFFICULT MOVIES. We talk about his books, mostly focusing on bad movies and why they’re great. We also talk about directors’ late work and if he perceives a drop in quality as directors get older, we talk about woke movies and anti-woke critics.
