There is a lack of moral clarity between the writing team and Ultraman himself. I think.

Healthy skepticism is a virtue. You should question those in power. I think this comic gets around to admitting that, while telling a cool sc-fi story.

Did the Red reveal work for you? Will Nathan ever return? How could he?

What's Shin's dad's problem? I don't get it. Would he be dubious about his son being a firefighter or other dangerous profession that works to save people? What do you think his problem is? Is there something in his past to make things extra comic-book and soap operah-like or is it just a generational divide type-thing?

Radiant Black had an adequate start for me. I was a bit dubious going into issue 2, but I held out hope it would be really good. I heard some STRONG hype for it, but I proceeded with caution. Was it a let down or did it live up to the hype? More importantly, did it rise to the level of Higgins' Ultraman comic?

I loved Higgins' work on The Rise of Ultraman (Mat Groom deserves some credit for hat, but I don't know how much) so I decided to check out this project. Was it as good as I hoped for?

After going through the Spider-Verse I found my least favorite Spider-Man costume. I'll explain why it's bad and offer alternative designs for it.

The Rise of Ultraman #3 from Marvel Comics has fun action, escalating stakes, and healthy skepticism of authority figures. It's a great comic and this series is strong. I have a lot to say about it, so check out my full analysis!

This post-Pearl Harbor issue of Captain America Comics deals with the new Japanese threat in an interesting way. The Japanese characters are drawn with exaggerated features to help dehumanize them and make them easier to hate. It's good for propaganda, but bad for the soul!

The inside cover to this book boasts that it is NEW! DIFFERENT! EXCITING! I have to say it does deliver.

This issue feels like Avison and Shores pulling out all the stops to make the absence of Kirby and Simons less noticeable. They hit a lot of the same highlights and do a lot of the most Cap and Bucky things they can in how the visuals are presented.

Shin Hayata faces almost certain death. He can live and seize his own destiny if he can face his own darkness and rise above it.
