Synopsis for our Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness Movie Review Directed by: Sam Raimi Written by: Michael Waldron Based on characters by - Steve Ditko and Stan Lee Chased by a demon in the space between universes while searching for the Book of Vishanti, America Chavez has a power that the demon wants. Both Chavez and Defender Strange are unable to escape. With Chavez captured by the demon, and with Strange injured and weakened, she will die if her power is extracted from her by the demon. Seeing no alternative, Defender Strange’s only option is to take the power himself, killing Chavez. But Strange is killed and Chavez accidentally creates a portal with her power that transports her and Strange's corpse to Earth-616, where Doctor Stephen Strange and the Sorcerer Supreme, Wong, rescue Chavez from a rune studded octopus demon. Recognizing the runes on the demon, Strange consults Wanda Maximoff for help, but he realizes that she is responsible for the attacks. After acquiring the Darkhold and becoming the Scarlet Witch, Maximoff believes that controlling Chavez's powers will allow her to reunite with her children Billy and Tommy, taken from another universe, after she lost them in Westview. Strange refuses to surrender Chavez to Wanda, and she unleashes the Scarlet Witch against Kamar-Taj, killing many sorcerers. As she hunts Chavez in the ruins of Kamar-Taj, Chavez with no control of her power once again accidentally transports herself and Strange to Earth-838. Wanda uses the Darkhold to pursue Strange and Chavez by "dream-walking". She takes control of her Earth-838 counterpart, but is thwarted by a surviving sorceress in Kamar Taj who sacrifices herself to destroy the Darkhold and break the dream-walk. Enraged, Maximoff forces Wong to lead her to Mount Wundagore, a forbidden ancient ruin, to reestablish the dream-walk. While searching for help and trying to stop the Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange realises his counterparts in other universes have taken many different trajectories, but in each one he realises that his feelings for Christine Palmer have been the same. As Stephen, America and Christine escape Earth-838, their hope to retrieve the Book of Vishanti is crushed as Wanda destroys it. She takes over Chavez's mind, using her powers to send the others to an incursion-destroyed universe. Back in Earth-616, at Mount Wundagore, Maximoff begins the spell to take Chavez's powers. In the incursion destroyed universe, Strange uses its Darkhold to dream-walk in the corpse of the deceased Defender Strange back on Earth-616. With Wong's help, Strange saves Chavez from Wanda. Encouraging her to use her abilities, Chavez transports Wanda to Earth-838, where she sees Billy and Tommy recoil from her in fear while crying for their real mother. Wanda relents and uses her powers to bring down Mount Wundagore, destroying all copies of the Darkhold throughout the multiverse and apparently sacrificing herself in the process. With the threat of the Scarlet Witch gone, Chavez begins training at Kamar-Taj and Doctor Strange’s use of the Darkhold has unintended consequences. In a mid-credits scene, Doctor Strange is approached by a sorceress who warns him that his actions have triggered an incursion that he must help fix. The latest collaboration from Sony and Marvel is here with Spider-Man No Way Home. Make sure you've watched the movie before you jump into our fully spoiler filled chat. Synopsis for our Spider-Man No Way Home Movie Review Directed by: Jon Watts Written by: Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Based on characters by - Steve Ditko and Stan Lee His identity revealed Peter Parker, aka Spiderman, and MJ try to escape the glare of the media spotlight and J Jonah Jameson. Pursued by the Department of Damage Control, not even the help from his lawyer Matt Murdock, can ease the intrusion of the identity of Spiderman. As it begins to affect the futures of Peter, MJ and Ned when their University applications to MIT are rejected because of the controversy Peter asks Doctor Stephen Strange if he can help. A spell exists that may be the answer to Peter’s problems. Deep in the Sanctum Sanctorum and despite Wong’s warning, Doctor Strange casts a spell that will make people forget Peter is Spiderman. But it is a tricky and dangerous spell skirting the boundaries of reality. As Strange begins casting Peter keeps requesting alterations to the spell which causes it to become corrupted and run out of control. While Strange manages to contain the failing spell, weird things begin to happen in New York City and they all appear focussed on Spiderman. As Peter tries to convince an MIT administrator to accept Ned's and MJ's applications, he is suddenly attacked by Doc Ock aka Otto Octavius who he manages to disarm and then by the Green Goblin who manages to escape. He brings Doc Ock back to the Sanctum where he is placed in a holding cell next to Curt Connors in his Lizard form. But both adversaries don’t recognise this world’s Peter Parker. Doctor Strange reveals that the spell has begun bringing "visitors" from the multiverse who know that Peter is Spider-Man into their world from every part of the Multiverse. Armed with this knowledge and with the help of MJ and Ned, Peter decides to help capture any other possible visitors. Spider-Man manages to find and capture Electro aka Max Dillon and Flint Marko still in his Sandman form. While Peter wants to save Doc Ock, Electro, Sandman and Lizard, Doctor Strange believes they should be returned to their universe to meet their fate. But with Peter’s greatest adversary Norman Osborne, the green Goblin still at large, Norman uses his split personality and Peter’s desire to help others for his own ends, trashing Peter’s plan and unleashing tragic events for Peter Parker. With Aunt May killed and Peter desolate, MJ and Ned rally to his help, releasing Doctor Strange from the mirror dimension and recruiting two friendly neighbourhood visitors to his aid as they face off against his enemies at the Statue of Liberty. In the final battle the Spider-Men manage to cure their villains. At Peter's request, Strange fixes the spell, sending the alternate Spider-Men and their villains back to their universes, while making everyone forget Parker's existence. It's a tale of love lost on What If? Episode 4 "What If Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His Hands?". Christine Palmer accepts Stephen Strange’s invitation to the medical dinner in his honour. But that fateful night results in the death of Christine and Stephen Strange survives the car crash and his hands are untouched. But Stephen realises how close he and Christine were; racked by grief Stephen searches for meaning and learns the mystic arts at Kamar-Taj under the direction of the Ancient One. Two years later, still grieving his lost love, Doctor Strange attempts to use the Eye of Agamotto repeatedly to save Christine. In all scenarios she dies. An echo of the Ancient One warns Stephen that Christine’s death is an absolute point in the timeline that can not be undone and using The Eye will destroy the fabric of reality. But the arrogant Strange refuses to listen so the Ancient One splits Strange into two alternate versions on the same timeline. One accepts Christine’s death and heads for tea with Wong, while the other heads on a journey to the lost library of Cagliostro in his attempt to save Christine. At the library, with the help of the mystical O'Bengh, The Sorcerer Supreme discovers in the book of Cagliostro how to gain the power to break the absolute point by absorbing the magical energy of other mystical creatures, in particular that of a powerful tentacled creature. The more he absorbs the more his grasp of reality fades, taking on the forms and powers of his prey he becomes Strange Supreme. He must finally confront and absorb the energy of himself contained in the alternate Doctor Strange. In the final battle, Strange Supreme overpowers Doctor Strange and absorbs his powers, using it to finally resurrect Christine. But his actions tear reality apart, disintegrating the universe around him, including Christine. Strange Supreme begs the Watcher for help, but he refuses to intervene. As Christine fades from Strange’s hold, leaving Strange Supreme to grieve alone as his universe collapses. Marvel's What If? Welcome back to the end of our Summer of Strange? for our Marvel's Thor Ragnarok Review. We discuss our Top 5 points as usual about the third big screen outing for the God of Thunder. Synopsis for our Thor Ragnarok Review 2017 Directed by: Taika Waititi Written by: Eric Pearson, Craig Kyle , Christopher Yost After his adventures on earth, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) has broken out of the prison of Surtur (voiced by Clancy Brown) (A giant being who wants to bring Ragnarok to Asgard and destroy his home). He returns to Asgard and upon his arrival he finds that his brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) has replaced Odin (Anthony Hopkins) as ruler of Asgard sending their father to a retirement home on earth. With the help of Doctor Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Loki and Thor locate their father back in his ancestral lands in Norway only to find he doesn't want to return to the throne and his time has passed. But he reveals to them that the next in line to the throne is their elder sister the goddess of death Hela (Cate Blanchett). As Odin whisps on the ancestral winds Hela’s banishment is broken and, after destroying meow meow, she dispatches her brothers to the planet Skaar and returns to Asgard to take her place on the throne. On Skaar, a war planet ruled by The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum), Thor is forced to fight for his life in the arena. There he faces his toughest opponent a fully powered Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). Hulk is happy on Skaar as the people of the land love their champion. Thor must convince Hulk, Loki and his capturer Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) to join with him and return to Asgard to take back their homeland from Hela. To achieve this they start an uprising against Grandmaster and battle their way back to Asgard and help Heimdall (Idris Elba) to free the inhabitants of their home. By convincing turncoat Asgardian Skurdge (Karl Urban) to join them and using Surtur to complete the prophecy of Ragnarok and destroy their homeland they achieve their goal. Leaving a destroyed Asgard on a ship carrying the remaining Asgardian, Thor takes his seat as the All Father of Asgard as they search for a new planet to call home. With crushed fingers, torn tendons, splintered bones and his career ruined he uses the last of his wealth to repair his injuries and regain control of his hands, his work and his life but to no avail. In a last gasp effort Strange heads to Kamar-Taj in Kathmandu, Nepal where he is introduced to a mysterious leader known as the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) and a new way of seeing the world. As he learns of magic, alternate dimensions and the sanctums located across the world to defend the earth from mystical threats he is told of Kaecilius (Mads Mikkelsen) a zealot and former disciple of the Ancient One who seeks to tear down the fabric of time and space for a new Master. As Kaecilius' threat takes hold it is up to Doctor Strange and the Masters of the Mystic arts to defend the sanctums and prevent the fall of Earth. We take a break from Luke Cage for a quick Doctor Strange IMAX Preview Podcast. Synopsis for our Doctor Strange Animated Movie Review Directed by Patrick Archibald, Jay Oliva and Dick Sebast Screenplay by Greg Johnson Story by Greg Johnson and Craig Kyle New York is under increasing attack from mystical forces and foes that it's inhabitants can neither see nor perceive. But a talented yet arrogant neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange (Bryce Johnson) begins to see wisps of unknown creatures and also starts to connect psychically with the nightmares of an alarming number of child patients admitted to hospitals across New York. Whilst he shrugs these occurrences off he is involved in a severe car accident leaving him with crippling injuries to his hands. Searching across the world for a cure to his injured hands Stephen Strange travels to far-off Tibet to receive physical and spiritual healing from the renowned Ancient One (Michael Yama). Initially blunt, presumptuous and sceptical of this "healing" Strange is opened up to a world of magical energy by the Ancient One and Wong (Paul Nakauchi). As he develops his mystical powers he is told of his destiny to become earth's Sorcerer Supreme. However, another student of the mystical arts Mordo (Kevin Michael Richardson) become jealous of Strange and the attention being placed on him by the Ancient One and Wong betrays them all to Dormammu (Jonathan Adams) from the Dark Dimension who is using the comatose children to conquer the world. As they face down this evil threat Stephen Strange uses his new abilities to fight Dormmamu, but soon realises that despite all his immense power he cannot save everyone.
