    #SHB382 - Keeper

It’s pretty rare we get to see horror films at the cinema that we know almost nothing about and that was certainly the case this week. After Osgood Perkins’ last two films we knew we would be seated for whatever he made next so we were able to go see this film having only seen a teaser at the start of the year and it really added to the experience. We try to dance around spoiling this one during our discussion but Osgood is fast becoming one of the most intriguing directors out there. We also give our reactions to the Silent Hill trailer and whether it can continue the amazing resurgence the franchise is currently having. Keeper is available in cinemas worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB381 - Frankenstein

One of the great auteurs of this generation is back with his latest work in the form of a new adaptation of the most classic of all creature stories. Del toro and Frankenstein truly is a match made in heaven and now via Netflix we finally get to see his take on Mary Shelley’s classic. Perhaps not the most ‘horror’ of films by modern standards but arguably it’s horror comes from a realer place and it is certainly an emotional watch. We end by discussing the latest physical release of the greatest French horror film ever made and why its impact is still so profound all these years later. Frankenstein is available on Netflix worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB380 - Hell House LLC: Lineage

Happy Halloween! We sure have a wild one for you this week. First off we absolutely lose our minds discussing the first trailer for Scream 7 and give our first reactions as well as all the crazy speculation that now comes with a new entry in the franchise. If you thought this was bad we’ve got 4 more months to dissect this one. After this extended intro we briefly talk about a new horror film. But more excitingly we discuss a new 4K release which is surely the best horror release of the year. Spooky season truly is the greatest. Hell House LLC: Lineage  is available on Shudder worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB379 - Him

There aren't many sports/horror hybrid films around usually and maybe after this week’s show we understand a little better why. Just kidding. Him is the latest film to arrive under the esteemed Monkeypaw Productions banner and was a film we couldn’t wait to see after its first reveal. Can two of our favourite hobbies merge together in a way we never could have imagined? Let’s find out. Ending the show; Matt has been reading some Stephen King before the next Joe Hill novel arrives soon. Mike has been checking out some classic Friday the 13th films via Arrow Video. And we see what our hype level is for the final season of Stranger Things as its long awaited return looms. Him is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB378 - V/H/S/Halloween

What better way to get excited for spooky season than to discuss a brand new VHS film with the theme being all about our favourite time of year. Shudder brought back this franchise from the dead and with now 8 main entries in the franchise; can they continue to deliver? You may be surprised by our thoughts on this film. Ending the show Matt has rewatched Silent Hill for the first time in 15 years and realises sometimes it’s best to keep your memories intact when going back to older releases. V/H/S/Halloween is available on Shudder worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB377 - Together

Body horror is a genre staple and after a huge resurgence in the sub genre last year we get to discuss its latest entry in Together. Starring real life couple Dave Franco and Alison Brie; this film tackles the ups and downs of fractured relationships in a way that only the horror genre can achieve. We also discuss Mike Flanagan’s return to film after 5 years and how The Life of Chuck is vintage Flanagan. Finally we preview the rest of a very busy month for horror. Together is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB376 - Weapons

Well, well well; if it isn’t a new episode of the show in 2025. We are back and couldn’t be happier to return with the film we are discussing this week. Zach Cregger flew onto the horror scene in 2022 with his outstanding debut film Barbarian and now he’s back with the insanely original Weapons. We have one of our longest individual film discussions in the show’s history and still feel like there’s more to talk about with this one. Ending the show we chat about what is next for Zach as he is tackling one of our favourite franchises across all media and set the new hype train going forward. Weapons is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB374 - Best of 2023 Special

This is it. The big one. After many outside factors trying to take us down throughout most of December; we are finally here to chat about the year that was 2023. Certainly a year filled with highs and lows. The main event as always is our top ten where we rank and order the best horror films this year had to offer. We then give out our individual awards such as Best Death and see just how much TV dominated this year. And ending the show we have a big announcement regarding the future of this very podcast. Thank you for listening once again and we hope you enjoy this big finale podcast. #SHB373 - Dark Harvest

With the final show of the year fast approaching we have time to squeeze in this very bizarre film we spoke about on the show many years ago. Once we heard about Sawtooth Jack we knew we wanted to see Dark Harvest and after numerous delays it is finally here. Was Jack worth waiting for? Let’s find out. Elsewhere this week; Thanksgiving and Saw are both getting sequels which makes us happy. Robert Eggers’ Nosfaratu gets dated for next Christmas. And ending the show we give some brief thoughts before our year ender on why 2023 hasn't been the best year for films. Dark Harvest is available on streaming services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB372 - Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor

This latest entry in the Hell House LLC franchise dropped on Shudder over the Halloween period and we’re glad we’re finally getting a chance to discuss it. We’ve really enjoyed this low budget found footage series over the years and were curious to see what this first spin-off film would be all about. Elsewhere this week; the only thing worth talking about is the seemingly collapse of Scream 7 and what this means for the future of the franchise. It’s a doozy and we have a lot of opinions about the whole situation.Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor is available on Shudder worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB371 - Thanksgiving

After a little break we are back with a film we’ve waited 16 years for. After a fake trailer as part of the Grindhouse experience back in 2007; we’ve long wondered what a feature length version of that ridiculous trailer would look like. Well wonder no more as we finally get to see if it was worth the wait or if it should have stayed as a silly fake trailer. This is also remarkably the first time we’ve ever covered an Eli Roth film for the main discussion on the podcast and it’s long overdue. Elsewhere this week; Black Mirror will be returning to Netflix. Mike Flanagan’s next film is NOT a horror film? And ending the show we discuss our love of Tremors and Rob Zombie. Thanksgiving is available in cinemas worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB370 - Creepshow: Season 4

Creepshow made its long awaited return to Shudder next month so it's about time we talk all about it. 2 years since the last season and Season 4 brings us vampires, ghosts, werewolf, monsters; just about everything horror related you could ever want. We give our verdict on this latest season and how it shaped up to previous entries. Elsewhere this week; Terrfier 3 is officially coming next year and is a Christmas slasher. And ending the show we somehow find a way to talk about Hellraiser yet again. Creepshow is available on Shudder worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB369 - Five Nights at Freddy's

To officially round out October and spooky season even though I’m sure plenty will continue into November; this week we are chatting about the latest video game adaptations to make the jump to the big screen. This franchise has been around for a decade already and has a huge fan base around the world. How does its jumpscare formula adapt to a new medium? Let’s find out. Elsewhere this week; Mike Flanagan reveals the sensational cast for his new film. It Follows is getting a sequel after ten years. And ending the show we chat about one of the best episodes of Chucky to date that delivered everything this past week. Five Nights at Freddy’s is available in cinemas worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB368 - The Fall of the House of Usher

It’s always a special occasion when we get to cover Mike Flanagan for this show and this one is no different. After The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass; surely he can’t produce another masterpiece as he bids farewell from Netflix for pastures new. We try to cover everything this show has to offer but we could honestly talk about it for weeks. Ending the show we talk about the greatest physical media release we've ever purchased and the latest episode of Chucky continuing to deliver the thrills this season.  The Fall of the House of Usher is available on Netflix worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB367 - V/H/S/85

V/H/S made its glorious return a few years ago after way too much time away and it’s hard to believe we’ve now had six entries in this fantastic found footage franchise. Shudder has given this franchise a second life and we’re back to chat about all things video tape with an 80’s twist. We also give our thoughts on the new sci-fi film The Creator and debate what are the best foreign language horror films of all time. V/H/S/85 is available on Shudder worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB366 - The Exorcist: Believer

The big horror franchise returns just keep on coming. Hot on the heels of an actually good Saw film (we still can’t believe it either) now sees the return of one of the most influential horror films of all time. We’ve long been fatigued with this sub genre but with a strong trailer we were willing to give this film a go. Was it worth it? Let’s find out. We also chat about the return on the small screen of Chucky who continues to fill our hearts with joy seeing this little guy once again. The Exorcist: Believer is available in cinemas worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB365 - Saw X

You already know the drill. We love Saw and have spent so much time debating this franchise over the years on this very show. From the highs of the first 6 films to the lows of the recent films; we’ve really been through the ringer with this one. But we can’t help but keep coming back for more. Can they finally break the curse and make the first truly great Saw film in over a decade? Let’s find out. Elsewhere this week; the entire Child’s Play franchise is coming to 4K via Arrow Video but with a small caveat. And we get excited for the imminent return of Mike Flanagan. Saw X is available in cinemas worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB364 - No One Will Save You

With an incredibly stacked October on the horizon; we have found a super interesting film to fill the gap until then. No One Will Save You combines home invasions with sci-fi and has a unique twist which no film we have ever covered before has done. Arriving on Hulu in the states and Disney Plus in the uk recently; this is a film you do not want to miss. Elsewhere this week; Smile 2 will be haunting until next Halloween. A new book covering the Firefly Trilogy was just released. And ending the show we give our final temperature check on Saw X and keep things positive that the franchise can finally turn things around. No One Will Save You is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB363 - The Blackening

After a good time last week talking about some classic Craven we are back to find hopefully some new horror worth talking about. The Blackening wasn’t on our radar until we saw a very funny trailer and knew this was something we should watch. Does the humour translate to the whole film and more importantly just how much horror is in this one? Let’s find out. Elsewhere this week; the return of Chucky is imminent but it does have a disappointing release schedule. And ending the show Matt finished his recent rewatch of LOST and discusses whether it’s his favourite thing of all time. The Blackening is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB362 - My Soul to Take (Ranking Wes Craven)

Over 3 years ago we started ranking all of Wes Craven’s horror films. And now it’s finally over. My Soul to Take is the last film to add to the list and unless we add on his TV films; our ranking will be complete. It’s been a long road with many highs and a few lows discussing our favourite director’s entire catalogue and we couldn't be happier to have spent so long celebrating this legend’s career. Where will this final film end up? Let’s find out. Elsewhere this week; Thanksgiving becomes even more real with a new teaser. The revival of Goosebumps sounds promising. And ending the show we chat about one of the most authentic horror films ever made.  My Soul To Take is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB361 - The Last Voyage of the Demeter

After a couple of weeks away we are back and more ready than ever for the horror world to wow us once again. We spoke about this film being pulled from UK cinemas just before it’s release but after being put on demand to die we figured we’d see if this latest Dracula flick has anything to offer or not. Elsewhere this week; Shudder is bringing the heat in October with the return of Creepshow and V/H/S. Chucky returns very soon as well. Arrow Video acquires yet another banger for a 4K release later this year. And ending the show we’ve both been playing and enjoying a new game that’s based upon one of the greatest horror films ever made that celebrates its 50th anniversary next year. The Last Voyage of the Demeter is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB360 - Beau is Afraid

We couldn't delay it anymore. It’s time for us to finally talk about Ari Aster’s return and the crazy 3 hour ride that is Beau is Afraid. This truly is one of the most bizarre and unique films we've ever covered and we do our best to try and encapsulate what makes this film as insane as it is. Elsewhere this week; a newly released horror film in the states we were looking forward to has been pulled from UK distribution. And ending the show Matt has been checking out Twisted Metal while Mike has been watching Wednesday. Beau is Afraid  is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB359 - Talk to Me

This week’s show might not be what you expect. We are discussing a brand new original cinema horror which is always our favourite topic and whilst on the surface this is another possession film that we are increasingly tired of; this discussion is one of the most surprising of the year. Perhaps this sub genre doesn't suck after all! Elsewhere this week; Scream 7 gets a new director which of course sparks an entire conversation about the franchise and what we hope to see moving forward. And ending the show a comment from Twitter has us speculating on the future of TV amid the ongoing strikes and whether we want to commit to long term stories right now. Talk to Me is available in cinemas worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB358 - God is a Bullet

There is so much interesting horror content to get through this week. Finally! After taking a break from horror last week we are back with a vengeance to discuss a super interesting film called God is a Bullet. The trailer grabbed our attention but can this film with its eye watering runtime do the same? Let’s find out. Elsewhere this week; Saw X finally gets a first trailer and we are stunned by how good it looks. Arrow Video is releasing a dream come true box set this Halloween. Stephen Kostanski is finally making a new film which we are already so excited for. The best news segment of 2023? I think so. God is a Bullet is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB357 - Oppenheimer

Now for something completely different. For our own sanity we have decided to not watch a horror film this week but instead treat ourselves to a fun side quest and discuss the latest Christopher Nolan film to grace the big screen. Oppenheimer is a truly one of a kind film and hopefully you enjoy us chatting about something completely different to our usual grind which will continue next week. Elsewhere this week in the news; Saw X reveals its first plot details and we try really hard to stay positive. The first trailer for The Exorcist: Believer actually looks pretty good. And we preview the upcoming cinema horror schedule. Oppenheimer is available in cinemas worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB356 - Bird Box: Barcelona

Well this certainly wasn’t on our bingo card for 2023. A Spanish language spin off of Bird Box released 5 years after the last film. What a strange but actually very cool concept which is an interesting way to flesh out a world and setting. We dissect whether this sequel can deliver and also how much of Bird Box we actually remember at this point (very little). Elsewhere this week; FrightFest makes some big changes which we give our opinion on. The Last of Us gets even more acclaim. And ending the show we give a brief chat about the best experience you can have at the cinema so far this year and what makes ‘event cinema’ so special. Bird Box: Barcelona is available on Netflix worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB355 - Insidious: The Red Door

The cinema can give us some unbelievable highs when it comes to horror but it can also give us some of the most uninspired trash. Here’s hoping the 5th Insidious film can break the trend of the recent sequels and deliver a worthy successor to the original film. With a super interesting premise and returning cast members there is definitely a big reason why this film got made and we break down exactly where this movie worked and plenty of other areas that sadly didn’t work. Elsewhere this week; a slow news week once again sees us preview the upcoming schedule of horror films for the rest of the month. And ending the show Mike has rewatched one of our all time favourite films we’ve seen at FrightFest that's finally available to watch that we couldn't recommend more. Insidious: The Red Door is available in cinemas worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB354 - Malum

After a fun side affair talking about Black Mirror the last couple of weeks we are back to our bread and butter. Discussing brand new horror films. And boy is the horror landscape quiet right now. We discuss why that is and also discuss a film called Malum which we didn't even know existed this time last week. Ending the show Matt had finished reading The Scarlet Gospels and explains why every hellraiser fan owes it to themselves to read this book. Malum is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB353 - Black Mirror: Season 6 (Part 2/2)

Continuing from last week we are talking all about the magnificent return of Black Mirror. And this turned out to be a lot more horror focused than we expected. We have 3 episodes left to discuss and there sure is alot to get into. This season has completely broken the mould of what even is a Black Mirror episode anymore whilst still bringing the classic morality and ethics with a technology spin that we know and love so well. 4 years is a long time to wait for a new season but this sure was worth the wait. We hope you enjoyed this season as much as us and we look ahead to what the future of this show might be. Black Mirror : Season 6 is available on Netflix worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB352 - Black Mirror: Season 6 (Part 1/2)

The best sci-fi show on TV is back. After 4 years away we cannot wait to see what the latest season of this incredible show has to offer and we are sure gonna savour it. First up is Joan is Awful; where a normal woman suddenly gets a Netflix adaptation of her life and the perils that ensue. And then Loch Henry; which tackles the ethics and realities of the current world of true crime documentary addiction that we live in. We’re so happy this show is back and hope you’re all enjoying and watching along with us!Black Mirror: Season 6  is available on Netflix worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB351 - The Boogeyman

Cinema horror is finally back, baby! But it’s with a haunting type film which we don't typically vibe with. But it is a Stephen King story and has some writers and a director we’ve enjoyed films from in the past so hopefully this will be more The Conjuring 2 than say 30 other nondescript films of this sub genre. Elsewhere this week; Black Mirror has a date and we’ll be discussing it very soon. Art the Clown will return to terrify once again. Resident Evil looks to be returning to the big screen. And ending the show Mike highly recommends a new horror/sci-fi TV show he has binged in the last week. The Boogeyman is available in cinemas worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB350 - Influencer

350 episodes is a crazy landmark to hit and we are thankful people still enjoy this show after doing it for so long. We reminisce and look back briefly on the last 7 years then it’s straight to business with this week’s film. Influencer literally just came out this past weekend on Shudder and so we decided to take a chance knowing almost nothing about it. Did it pay off? Let’s find out. Elsewhere this week; production on Robert Eggers’ next film has just wrapped which sets up a tantalising match up of heavy hitters for next year. And ending the show Matt has been rewatching lots of Black Mirror in anticipation of it’s return in June. Influencer is available on Shudder worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB349 - Red Eye (Ranking Wes Craven)

One of our most anticipated entries in this Ranking Wes Craven retrospective since we started it years ago is finally here. Red Eye was a seminal film for us like so much of Wes’ filmography and we’ve been dying to talk about this tight thriller for quite some time. Now it has its time to shine and with the recent 4K release the timing couldn't have been any better. Perhaps the most underrated film in his entire career? We certainly think so. Ending the show Matt gives his thoughts on his first rewatch of Scream VI and Mike is rewatching Mike Flanagan’s masterpiece once again. Red Eye is available on 4K, Bluray, DVD and digital services nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB348 - Sick

Somewhat gone under the radar from back in January was the return of Kevin Williamson to not only the horror genre but the slasher world. So we need to rectify this mistake. Sick is the latest film to use Covid as the backdrop which is quickly becoming an overused concept but hopefully the other slasher elements are strong enough to make this film a great time. Elsewhere this week; Beetlejuice 2 is real. Black Mirror returns with 5 new episodes and we go over the titles and premises. And ending the show we discuss the joys of Peter Jackson and his early contributions to horror. Sick is available on Peacock nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB347 - Renfield

After we were both struck down in our prime a few weeks ago and couldn’t make it to the cinema we were anxiously waiting for this film to drop on demand. Now Renfield has arrived on the small screen and we can finally see Nic Cage playing Dracula like our little hearts desired. I guess this film has some other stuff in it also? Elsewhere this week; Mike Flanagan is finally returning to film and we couldn't be more excited and hyped for what he has in store for us. And ending the show Matt has watched a bunch of films from the 60’s and has some thoughts on some old classics and a nostalgic delight. Renfield is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB346 - The Outwaters

After the joys of big cinema horror last week we are now immediately dropped back down to earth in search of digital horror releases to discuss. However this week’s film boasts some of the best reviews of a horror film all year and being huge found footage fans; here’s hoping The Outwaters can live up to the hype. Elsewhere this week; Black Mirror is finally returning after a 4 year hiatus and we cannot wait for the king of sci-fi TV to come back and pick up where it left off. The Outwaters is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB345 - Evil Dead Rise

After a short hiatus last week we are back with another massive horror release from 2023 to discuss. Evil Dead has been sensational in all forms whether it’s the camp craziness of Bruce Campbell in the original trilogy and TV to Fede Alvarez’s modern classic. So this latest franchise instalment has a lot to live up to. Evil Dead Rise sees many dramatic shifts to the formula. Is this one more recent Scream or Halloween? Let’s find out. Elsewhere this week; we get a couple of new trailers which continue a trend which we hope does not continue. And The Conjuring will return to the big screen and the small screen and proves to be a franchise that will never die. Evil Dead Rise is available in cinemas worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB344 - Cursed (Ranking Wes Craven)

Before we return to the cinema once again now is the perfect time to go back to our favourite horror directors back catalogue as we continue our quest to rank each and every Wes Craven horror film. And boy do we have a doozy here. Cursed has one of the most troubled and unfortunate productions of any Craven film; but is the final product still worth a watch? We dissect this Werewolf tale and then rank it as we fast approach the finale of this years in the making list. Elsewhere this week; MaXXXine has begun filming and has an interesting cast. The Faces of Death remake has a unique modern twist that has us intrigued. And the team behind this year’s excellent Scream VI have their next project lined up and it’s not the next outing for Ghostface. Cursed is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB343 - Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey

You might have thought this day would never come but here we are covering a Winnie the Pooh film for this horror podcast. If you somehow missed this film after it gained quite a lot of media attention last year we go over just how this film exists first of all and then go about actually receiving it. It’s as insane as it sounds. Elsewhere this week; Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving comes out later this year after a long 16 year wait. Bill Skarsgard sadly won't be involved in HBO’s Welcome to Derry series. And ending the show we chat about how amazing Resident Evil 4 Remake is and once again big up this current run of games the series is currently on in the last 5 years. Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB342 - Missing

Screen life is one of our favourite sub genres to watch in recent years and Searching was one of the best thrillers so far within that sun genre. Missing is now the spiritual successor and continues to up the ante and bring all the tricks of new tech to the table in this rollercoaster of a film filled to the brim with twists and turns. Elsewhere this week; Rob Zombie has recorded a new commentary track for the 20th anniversary of House of 1000 Corpses. And ending the show we speculate on just how good Evil Dead Rise will be and Matt highly recommends a new film with a body count of over 140.Missing is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB341 - 65

The cinema is keeping up very busy and this week is the big budget sci-fi return of the creators behind A Quiet Place and the super underrated Haunt. 65 has a great premise that was sadly spoiled in the marketing but still has some tricks up its sleeve. Can these guys make another banger or is this one their first miss? Let’s find out. Elsewhere this week; Jordan Peele’s 4th film gets a date and we begin the speculation immediately. The Lighthouse gets a beautiful Collector’s Edition on 4K. And one of our favourites from last year’s FrightFest is getting a release very soon. 65 is available in cinemas worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB340 - Scream VI

We may never get to do a show like this again so prepare yourselves for what is about to happen. This week we have two extremely important things to talk about. First up is the return of our most beloved horror franchise in the form of Scream VI. After a great addition to the franchise last year, can they top it with a bold looking sequel that promises new rules for this glorious franchise. We have so much to say about this film as both a sequel to last year’s entry and also a continuation of this franchise. Then we go in depth on the finale of The Last of Us. The best TV show we’ve had the pleasure of talking about every week has finally come to an end so we give our overall thoughts on how this adaptation was able to pull off the seemingly impossible and where it leaves us going forward. We may never get to talk about two things we care so passionately about in the same week ever again so we had to make this a super sized special episode and savour it while we can. Scream VI is available in cinemas worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB339 - Cocaine Bear

Cocaine Bear just might be the most simple premise for a film we see all year. But sometimes in a simple package can be an incredibly multi-layered and nuanced film about all kinds of serious messages and topics. Other times it's just about a bear doing some coke and going crazy. Let’s find out which one this film falls under. Elsewhere this week; Mike Flanagan continues to want to make a new A Nightmare on Elm Street film that we’re trying to wish into existence. And ending the show we discuss the brilliant penultimate episode of The Last of Us and get very excited for Scream VI next week with some of the worst predictions we could think of. Cocaine Bear is available in cinemas worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB338 - Vampire in Brooklyn (Ranking Wes Craven)

The end of Ranking Wes Craven is fast approaching now but we have still found a film that neither of us have ever seen before. Vampire in Brooklyn holds a weird spot in Wes Craven’s filmography as he made it in between his last contribution to the Nightmare franchise and his first with Scream. Panned at release but somewhat of a cult classic these days; just what did we make of this Eddie Murphy vampire comedy? Let’s find out. Elsewhere this week; Welcome to Derry is officially on its way. Hellraiser 2022 gets the funniest physical release of the year. And ending the show we have our weekly chat on The Last of Us and just how can one TV show be this damn good every week.  Vampire in Brooklyn is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB337 - Infinity Pool

A very exciting film arrived on digital services last week that we just couldn't wait to see on the big screen next month so here we are discussing Brandon Cronenberg’s follow up to the outstanding Possessor. Infinity Pool stars the winners of our two acting categories from last year, a returning director we are big fans of and a premise of more melding of sci-fi and horror. Hype levels could not be higher. Let’s see if it lives up to its promise. Elsewhere this week; M3GAN gets its much talked about unrated version sooner than we expected. And this week's discussion on The Last of Us is a special one as episode 6 really hammers home why we’ve loved these characters for so long. Infinity Pool is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB336 - Candy Land

FrightFest continues to provide new horror films to us not just in August but all throughout the year. We sadly just missed seeing Candy Land at last year’s festival but made sure to make note of it and check it out when it was available so here we are. Following a group of truck stop sex workers after multiple dead bodies start appearing; this indie film has quite a lot to get stuck into. Elsewhere this week; Infinity Pool arrives on demand which probably means we’ll be covering it next week. And our weekly The Last of Us chat sees our first major criticisms of this wonderful show and the first bad character we've seen so far. Candy Land is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB335 - Knock at the Cabin

The return of M. Night Shyamalan is upon us. This man has had quite the career resurgence in recent years and we have really benefited from it for the show. He has already had 3 top 10 films for us and now comes his next project with a fascinating trailer behind it. Can he deliver yet again? We have a lot to discuss with this one. Elsewhere this week; I Know What You Did Last Summer is seemingly getting the legacy sequel treatment. Dexter gets two new shows. And our weekly The Last of Us chat sees the first change from the game that we don’t massively love so far. Knock at the Cabin is available in cinemas worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB334 - Unwelcome

This is a very special podcast. We really hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed recording it. Our main event is Unwelcome; a brand new British horror film we got to finally see on the big screen after many delays. It contains laughs, drama, emotion and great creature effects. Hopefully this one makes a splash with horror fans. Then we of course talk about episode 3 of The Last of Us and get emotional talking about how this show is perfectly translating one of our all time favourite stories across all media and somehow still stunning us and defying expectations week after week. And lastly we get very excited for the return of one of our favourite genre filmmakers next week!Unwelcome is available in UK cinemas now and comes to US cinemas March 10thFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. #SHB333 - There’s Something Wrong with the Children

The first on demand new horror film of 2023 sees two couples holidaying together when their kids start acting very weird. Are they just weird kids or are they actually some sort of devil in disguise? We get to the bottom of this and many more issues in this week's film. Also this week; Scream VI gets a proper first trailer that teases a very different Scream and Ghostface. Violent Night seems to be getting a sequel. And ending the show of course we need to discuss the latest episode of The Last of Us and ponder how this show can be so perfect. There’s Something Wrong with the Children is available on digital services worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: [email protected]**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice.
