Super Sober Podcast 46. JD Tremblay. "From Addiction to Endurance".

Send us Fan Mail🚀 New Episode Alert: Super Sober Podcast #46 with J.D. Tremblay! 🎙️From Addiction to Endurance: J.D. Tremblay's Journey of TransformationI’m thrilled to announce the release of our latest episode featuring the incredible J.D. Tremblay, a man whose journey from addiction to ultra-endurance athlete is nothing short of inspiring. In this episode, we dive deep into the transformative power of identity, structure, and resilience. Here are three key takeaways that I believe will resonate with many of you:Identity Matters: J.D. emphasizes the importance of redefining our identity as a crucial step in overcoming addiction. Instead of labeling ourselves as "addicts," we can choose to identify as "athletes," "warriors," or any positive role that aligns with our goals. This shift in mindset not only helps us to distance ourselves from our past behaviors but also empowers us to embrace a new way of living. As J.D. puts it, “I am a triathlete. I am a Christian man.” This identity shift can be a powerful tool in recovery.Structure is Key: J.D. shares insights from his military background, highlighting that while the military provides structure, it’s up to the individual to follow it. In our personal lives, creating a structured environment can help us break free from unhealthy habits. Whether it’s setting a routine for workouts, meal planning, or establishing boundaries, having a clear structure can guide us toward our goals and keep us accountable.Engage in Healthy Challenges: One of the most profound aspects of J.D.'s journey is his commitment to pushing his limits through extreme athletic challenges, like the Epic Deca. He illustrates how engaging in healthy challenges not only builds physical endurance but also strengthens mental resilience. By replacing old habits with new, constructive challenges, we can redirect our energy toward growth and achievement. This episode is packed with wisdom and practical advice for anyone looking to overcome obstacles in their lives. Whether you’re in recovery, seeking personal growth, or simply looking for inspiration, J.D.'s story is a testament to the power of perseverance and transformation.🎧 Listen now to hear more about J.D.'s journey and the systems he developed to help others reclaim their lives.➥ Book: Hunger for More in Life: Conquer Mental Struggles, Defy Limitations, and Discover Purpose Through Epic Achievements ➥https://a.co/d/6nSu5pi➥https://hunger4more.com/➡️Instagram:   / jdtremblaytri  ➡️LinkedIn:   / jd-tremblay-2b6215256  #SuperSoberPodcast #Recovery #Transformation #ISuper Sober PodcastMission Statement Our purpose is to educate and inspire as we have been by the world of recovery.  Educate the world on addiction recovery. Explain how the 12 steps are practiced on a daily basis. Help remove the current stigmas and bias against addiction. Save lives by making the world of recovery relatable. Go to:   F3 Recovery – Education, Marketing, EntertainmentInstagramhttps://www.instagram.com/supersoberpodcast/Facebookhttps://www.facebook.com/f3recoverySponsor: His House New Creation Need help getting sober. Super Sober Podcast 33. "Letting Go Series" (Part 3) Embracing Change!

Send us Fan Mail🌟 New Episode Alert: Super Sober Podcast Episode 33! 🌟1.      Letting Go Series (Part 3): Embracing Change in RecoveryHey everyone! I’m excited to announce the release of our latest episode of the Super Sober Podcast, where we dive deep into the theme of Letting Go (Part3). This episode is packed with insights from my co-hosts Rich J. and Mike G, and we explore how letting go can lead to profound personal growth and freedom. Here are three key takeaways that really stood out to me:1.      Clinging Causes Suffering: One of the most powerful messages we discussed is how holding onto things—whether it’s relationships, past mistakes, or even material possessions—can lead to unnecessary pain. As we shared, the more we cling, the more we invite suffering into our lives. It’s a reminder that true freedom comes from learning to let go. This is especially relevant in recovery, where we often find ourselves using people or substances as crutches. Letting go allows us to embrace new beginnings and healthier relationships.2.      Change is Inevitable: We talked about how accepting that everything is temporary can help us release our attachments. Change can be uncomfortable, but it’s a natural part of life. Rich shared his experience of moving to a new place during his early recovery, which forced him to confront his fears and embrace change. It’s a reminder that while change can be daunting, it’s also an opportunity for growth. We must lean into the discomfort and trust that we are on the right path, even when it feels scary.3.      Forgiveness is Freedom: This was a major theme in our discussion, particularly in relation to the 12-step process. We emphasized that seeking forgiveness from others is important, but the real liberation comes from forgiving ourselves. Mike G highlighted how this self-forgiveness can free us from the burdens of guilt and shame that we carry. It’s a powerful reminder that we don’t have to be defined by our past mistakes; we can choose to let go and move forward.I encourage you all to listen to this episode and reflect on these takeaways. Below is a history of over 50 years of community service to addicts and alcoholics.  History recap. In Loving memory of all Alumni, current board members and all the residents of The Step House of Garden Grove! Ø "The Step house of Santa Ana has always followed the original beginnings of AA as set forth by Bill W. and DR, Bob. Ø "On December 15th, 1973, the first resident was admitted officially to the Step House. It has now been open for over 50 years, serving the community. Talk about, heritage, legacy, and lineage.  Ø  “On December 24, 1973, The Step House of Santa Ana, located at 525 N. Grand St., Santa Ana, Ca, was originated as a non-profit cooperation by eleven charter members. Ø  “In 1973 when the house was opened it was believed the only other step house in Orange County was the first step House of Orange County, more commonly known as the “Charlie Street-step house”, in Costa Mesa.Ø “On December 7, 1977, the house on Grand Avenue had to be evacuated to make way for a parking lot. At that time 1,134 residents had come through the doors and there was a growing list of alumni who were sharing up to four years of sobriety.·         The day the house was Bulldozed many people thought that was the end of the step house. Ø  Soon after “The Step House of Santa Ana”, purchased a home at 13472 Gilbert St., Garden Grove Ca. and went right on with the same program. The house was continued as a Detox house until 1986 until local laws caused it to shut down and then became a sober living. ·         Our records show that from its opening on December 15th, 1973, in Santa Ana to its closing on September 30th, 1986, they had processed a total of 3,539 practicing alcoholics as residents. Questions for the guests1.      Give a brief story of how you got to the step house. 2.      How has living in sober living helped you stay sober up to this point. 3.      What would you tell other recovering friends and family about the benefits of living in sober living?Super Sober PodcastMission Statement Our purpose is to educate and inspire as we have been by the world of recovery. Send us Fan MailEVELYN HIGGINS | Understanding Genetic Markers of AddictionCutting-edge research reveals that the biomarkers linked to substance use disorders and mental health conditions can now be identified, isolated, and measured in our DNA. Why is this significant? Recognizing that addiction is best understood as a biological condition forever changes how we perceive, treat, and manage mental health and substance use disorders. What if you knew you had a genetic propensity for addiction? How would that impact the decisions you make? Dr. Evelyn Higgins, an international expert in the epidemiology of addiction, argues that genetic testing is a vital treatment resource that can change the lens through which society views addiction, and inspire communities to talk openly about mental health and addiction from a solutions-oriented perspective.https://www.wiredforaddiction.com/Evelyn Higgins Ted Talk on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hH9eqxAfaISuper Sober PodcastMission Statement Our purpose is to educate and inspire as we have been by the world of recovery.
