Today's Podcast from the Swamp features JRoller co-author Dave Johnson. Dave gave a presentation for a special combined combined GatorJUG/OrlandoJUG gathering in Orlando on Wednesday, Dec 8 2004. Dave talked about blogging and gave some insights about where he believes things are heading. He also shared some pretty amazing ideas about useful ways to put blogs to work. He gave a birds-eye view of JRoller's architecture that only he, as an author, could give. He talked about the scaling crises the JRoller servers ran into and how caching and other approaches solved them. This was a very special talk by someone whose development talents and generosity have enabled many of us to enjoy a well thought out piece of blogging software, hosted free and maintained through the tireless efforts of a volunteer team of crack developers.
