The Evolution of Sound in the World
Listen at high volume, over quality speakers, without pause or interruption. Headphones will obscure significant aspects of the music. Let the music immerse you. For those who find New Music offputting or intimidating, let the music create its own significance for you. There is nothing to understand beyond your own reaction to the sound. Special thanks to Wang Jue for her help at the beginning, and for the hours that numerous peers and teachers have spent listening to and giving feedback on this piece in its various iterations. This has become the most intimate experience of sound I've yet had, and I look forward to what turns the idea takes next.
