Ellen was killed by a distracted driver.  The charges against the driver were dropped.  We are shocked, but there are things you can do to help.   1. Set up a meeting with your legislator. This is the easiest and most effective way to get this bill passed.  Your legislator needs to hear from you that this is a priority. https://iowabicyclecoalition.org/meet-with-your-legislator-on-distracted-driving/ 2. Send your legislator a message about supporting hands-free cell phones while driving. If you aren’t willing to meet with a legislator on this issue, the next best thing to do is contact them with an email or phone call. https://iowabicyclecoalition.org/prohibit-handheld-cellphone-use-while-driving/ 3. Help make a donation to expand the Iowa Bicycle Coalition (Donations matched up to $35k).
