The pressure to be Right (and why it's exhausting)

What if the most exhausting thing you’re carrying…is the need to prove you made the right decision? This episode is about letting go of that pressure, and finding peace in choices that were simply true for you at the time. Thank you so much for being here… and for your patience with me lately 🤍I’ve been quietly finding my rhythm again, and slowly introducing a video format alongside the podcast. It’s new, a little uncomfortable, and very much a work in progress, so I really appreciate you giving me the space and grace to evolve this in a way that feels true to me.This episode is a really honest reflection on something I didn’t realise was driving so much of my life…the need to be right. The need to prove that the decisions we’ve made — especially the big, life-altering ones — were worth it.In this episode, I talk about:Why the question “did I get it right?” can keep us stuckThe illusion of the “better” life path, and what we don’t see behind itThe pressure to prove ourselves after making hard decisionsHow ego, people-pleasing, and fear of judgment quietly shape our choicesRebuilding self-trust after decisions that change everythingThe paradox of self-awareness — and why it can sometimes paralyse usLearning to hold both growth and self-worth at the same timeWhy setting boundaries can feel so uncomfortable… but so necessaryRedefining what it means to be a “good person”And letting go of the need to prove that your life choices were “right”If this resonates, I’d really love to hear from you.Your feedback genuinely means so much to me as I continue to shape this space. And if you know someone who might need this reminder right now… send it their way 🤍—Stay connected with me between episodes:Instagram: https://instagram.com/teatalkswithtezTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@teatalkswithtezYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@teatalkswithtez

Beauty Standards & Cosmetic Surgery Pressures in your 20-30s

In this episode, I dive into the complicated world of modern beauty standards — the pressure to look a certain way, the rise of cosmetic procedures, and the quiet internal battles so many women in their 20s and 30s are carrying alone.I’m opening up about my own reflections, the moments I’ve questioned my appearance, and the conversations I’ve had with friends, sisters, and my community about “fixing” ourselves in a world that constantly tells us we’re not enough. This episode isn’t about shaming any choice — whether you’ve had work done, you’re considering it, or you’re simply trying to make peace with your reflection. My hope is to bring compassion into the conversation, remind you that you’re not alone in the pressures you feel, and encourage deeper thought about the emotional and physical risks involved with invasive procedures, especially surgery. If you’ve ever felt confused, insecure, or overwhelmed by beauty expectations — this one’s for you.Take what resonates, leave what doesn’t, and above all… be gentle with yourself. 💛Thank you so much for being patient with my episodes and for tuning in. Business woman lessons and growth as a recovering people pleaser

In this episode I’m pulling back the curtain on my journey as a woman in business. The real, messy, empowering parts that don’t always make it to our highlights reel. As a recovering people pleaser, I’m sharing the lessons I’ve learned about finding my voice, owning my achievements, and standing my ground… even when I was underestimated because I looked “too young.” From shaky beginnings to stepping fully into my power, this is a story of growth, confidence, and learning to take up space unapologetically.Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a young woman navigating leadership, or just on your own journey of becoming unapologetically yourself, this one’s for you.If you want more content on elevating your communication from the Communications Guru Vinh Giang who I referenced in this episode, you can find him here: https://www.instagram.com/askvinhhttps://www.youtube.com/@askvinh💌 Stay connected with me between episodes and let me know your thoughts:Instagram: @teatalkswithtez (https://instagram.com/teatalkswithtez)TikTok: @teatalkswithtez(https://tiktok.com/@teatalkswithtez)If you enjoyed this episode, it would mean the world if you can please hit follow, leave a rating and share it with a friend who might need a little big sister tea today. 💛

Therapy Talk, Navigating Broken Engagement, Parent's Divorce, and Starting a Business

Hi fam!In this episode I’m opening up about my journey with therapy, which started back in 2016 when I first had doubts about my engagement, and again after making the painful decision to end it. That began the canon event which led to the year that I now look back on as a huge turning point. 2017 was one of the most traumatic years of my life, filled with significant events that changed everything, and I often think of it as the moment my life split into two chapters: life before, and life after.Since then, I’ve gone through multiple rounds of therapy, and I want to share my experiences to help de-stigmatise getting support, as well as offer some tips on what to look for when choosing a therapist. This episode is a little heavier and I do briefly touch on eating disorders, so please listen with care. If you find this triggering, I’ve included links to support services below.I actually recorded this episode in October 2024, and it's wild to see how much has changed since then!! I’m now engaged to the person I knew was my future husband even back then, and I’ve also decided to close my business six months later, a story I’ll share more of in a future episode.✨ Thank you so much for tuning in.
