Traditions
Every holiday has its traditions, but December seems to carry the most weight.Traditions are tricky because they often carry a lot of weight for people. It's easy to become nostalgic for what was and attach tremendous meaning to traditions to keep the past alive. While traditions aren't inherently bad, they can be harmful to our mental health if we participate in them to fill a gap or void. In this episode, Jason and Rachel chat about our experiences with traditions from our childhoods and how we navigate the holidays today. Special Note: We're happy to announce that Jae is now the official co-host of TWWP, so let's all give him a warm welcome!

Therapy
You are either in therapy or you're not. Some might argue that they do not need extra mental health support, but I would say, "Yes you do."The holidays are officially upon us, meaning we will all be subject to emotions. Sometimes emotions are welcome this time of year because they are joyful. But many of us will experience stress, anxiety, depression, or grief - and those emotions aren't as welcome. What do you do when you're in a full panic, or can't dig yourself out of a hole, or feel like your grief is suffocating you? I hope you can call your therapist.Whether you wish your therapist was your best friend, or you're still in search of the perfect clinician, or you've convinced yourself that your emotions are on lock and have it all figured out without the help of a mental health professional, this episode will hopefully open your mind to the wonderful (and weird) world of talk therapy.Kudos and references to mentions in the episode:Big thanks to our special guest: Jason KleistFind Couples Therapy with Orna Guralnik on Showtime

Mandela Effect
You know that thing where you remember something one way, but it turns out you're totally wrong? That's the Mandela Effect, and it's fascinating. This week, we're talking about all the things we remember that never happened, like the movie Shazaam starring Sinbad, and why everyone seems to remember Berenstain Bears with an "e" instead of an "a." What other Mandela Effects are out there? I know there's a lot of them. Join us on the show this week to reminisce about all the things we remember wrong. Do you remember the world the way it really is or are you just remembering it the way it is in your dreams?

Daylight Saving Time
It's March 10th, 2024 and you've just woken up at 2am. You're confused because you thought your clock just said 1am but now it says 3am. "How can this be?" you ask yourself, "Did I just transport through time?!"No, in fact, your phone is just participating in a time-honored tradition called Daylight Saving Time (NOT savings, which we'll get into later). For some, DST is a welcome disruption, promising longer daylight hours and less time to sit in the darkness wondering whether you're on the right path or not. For others, DST is the bain of their existence. No matter which camp you fall into, one thing is for certain, we all must participate whether we want to or not. Let's learn about DST, try to figure out why we do it, and settle the debate once and for all - should we observe DST or not?
