Emergence, TNG S7 E23 Review, The Battle Bridge

A series of puzzling events on and off the holodeck lead the crew of the Enterprise to a surprising conclusion: The ship is creating its own offspring. The crew has to assist with this arduous process to ensure the survival of the emerging lifeform – and their own. Today James and Lou discuss (Emergence) and what we think of it, with tonight’s guest host Chris Johnson. I didn’t realize, but I was listening to part of the episode to confirm something we were discussing. My Blue Yeti microphone is so good it picks up the slightest sounds and my headset was too close to the microphone. So somewhere around 26 min for sure, you can hear it. Apologies. Masks, TNG S7 E17 Review, The Battle Bridge

While investigating a rogue comet, the cultural archive concealed inside begins taking over both the Enterprise and Data. Today James and Lou discuss (Masks) and what we think of it.  Please note, Colin Higgins, a long time friend to the Lou Trek Show and Battle Bridge podcasts, was slated to be a part of this review.  Sadly, bowed out at the last minute, saying he wasn’t feeling well.  Days later, Colin took his own life.  I did not know Colin was wearing a mask of his own.  Being on the other side of the world, I couldn’t see the pain he was suffering.  The worst I ever felt about Colin was when he would get a little annoyed if James and I went on a tangent.  Other than that, I would have never suspected Colin was anything but a happy man who loved Star Trek and had a fondness for our show.  We are heartbroken over the loss of our friend.  We will discuss more about his death in the upcoming episode, Eye of the Beholder, which was very hard to record, considering the subject of suicide that the episode deals with and investigates. If anyone would like to record a little something about Colin, please do so.  Send it to [email protected] as soon as you can and it will be posted on an upcoming show.  It would really be good, if it can be done in the next few days and be a part of our next review, Eye of the Beholder. Testing TBB Stats and RSS Feed.

This is a test that I am running to determine if my stats with Blubrry are being recorded correctly and to see if my RSS feed is working properly. You are welcome to download the file attached as it was one where we thought of ways to kill Wesley Crusher.  I think we came up with a bunch of stuff as I remember.  The file name will be different than it was back then to see if the RSS Feed and Stats will think it’s a new file and begin to track it properly.  Feel free to have a listen. My favorite was the shotgun blast to the face.  Yes they got rather intense at times.  Enjoy. You can download the MP3 version of this show by clicking here. (might have to right click, save as.)
