The Big Bang and Creationism

An In-depth look at the science behind the Big Bang, as well as the Creationist movement.

    Quantum Cosmology

The Big Bang singularity is not the very origin of our universe. Developments in quantum cosmology have shown us that the Big Bang singularity does not actually exist, and the universe continues on prior to what classically appears as the beginning of the universe. This podcast analyzes quantum cosmology.Quantum Cosmology

    First Video Podcast!

Video Podcast — Introduction to the Big Bang TheoryI decided to sneak you guys a video podcast! I hope you like it. It comes in two parts, it's on youtube. An Introduction to the Big Bang Theory (Part 1)An Introduction to the Big Bang Theory (Part 2)Here a full link; thanks to my buddy Scott for putting it together and getting it uploaded!

    Discussion on The Watchmaker Argument

Okay, well, we eventually got it recorded, it sounds like it was stitched together like Frankenstein's monster, but it's here nonetheless.Interview

    Brief Update

Sorry it took so long to get this up... it's kind of pointless for the show, but hopefully some of you catch this message. My media uploading thing does not work now that I am back home so things are a bit annoying, as I can't upload anything!!!!My friend uploaded this for me:Brief UpdateEDIT: Okay, Skypecast is horribly buggy and (as we just found out) doesn't work on my computer! We are going to play around with things a bit, I won't be able to join in the conversation, but I will be able to type out responses. I suppose if we just the people we do, we can invite them into the chat too.. and do just a normal chat.)AGAIN EDIT: Okay, listen up. My skypename is bigbangcreationism. Add me if you want to join the conversation, and I will let the host know what your screen name is, so we can add you. Skypecast Beta is reallllllllyyy buggy, so we are just doing a normal conversation. If you want to join in, just let me know!ANOTHER EDIT: Well, the Skype thing was a dismal failure. We'll try it later today but his recording software didn't even work for a regular conversation.

    Dealing With Creationism

A great question this week by a listener, which leads into the more general question and show topic of "How should we deal with Creationism?" Dealing WIth Creationism

Creationism's Trojan Horse: The Intelligent Design Movement

I have to post this separately, apparently the iTunes music store only linked to the two images I linked, and didn't include the actual podcast... sorry about the confusion.Creationism's Trojan Horse: The Intelligent Design Movement

Creationism's Trojan Horse: The Intelligent Design Movement

Got new microphone. Hope I come in clearer. I got ahold of Creationism's Trojan Horse and so will be discussing that for the entire episode. If my voice changes throughout the episode, I forgot I had my retainer in halfway through...Creationism's Trojan Horse: The Intelligent Design MovementHere are the links I promised:Creationisms' Trojan HorseWord-for-word Comparsion of Of Pandas and PeopleYou can find a lot of other good information on their website.

    The Geometry of the Universe

This weeks episode is going to be discussing the Creationist claim about the changing nature of science and their problem with it. The topic for this week's episode is the geometry of the universe and how this geometry affects the evolution of the universe. I also discuss the recent finding of protein in a T-rex bone which verifies the evolutionary link between dinosaurs and birds (in this case, the chicken!)The Geometry of the UniverseHere are some links I found helpful in wrapping my mind around the notion of non-Euclidean geometry:Hyperparallel lines in hyperbolic geometry Geometry of the Universe Hyperbolic geometryNote: the lines on Wikipedia's Hyperbolic geometry page don't look like they would be parallel to the first line. This is just a problem with the drawing. The parallel lines only "touch" at infinity. They close in asymptotically towards the line but never touch.P.S. Sorry about any strange background noises you heard (including my nose near the end!), the dorm isn't exactly the quietest place to record a podcast!

    All Things Thermodynamics

This is my first episode in over half a year. I've decided to make my triumphant return back to podcasting. Because it's been so long, this episode is going to resemble my first one somewhat — I stumble, stutter, and get stuck a lot. Don't worry, I'll pick it back up as time goes on.This episode is going to be giving you some info on what I've been doing for this half a year, and then I get right into the rest of the show. The Creationist Claim I touch on is Robert Gentry's "Polonium Halos". The actual topic of discussion for this episode is Thermodynamics. E-mail me with any questions — I am positive I went too fast when talking about Thermodynamics. All Things Thermodynamics

    Stellar and Supernova Nucleosynthesis

This episode addresses a claim by Kent Hovind that involves the origin of the heavy elements. The rest of this episodes covers the life of a star and exactly how stars fuse all elements past helium, ending in a supernova to produce every natural element past iron.Stellar Nucleosynthesis

Shattering The Myths of Darwinism Part 2

This is the second installment (and final, for now) of my critique of Richard Miltons' book Shattering the Myths of Darwinism. The topics covered mainly concern various radiometric dating methods.Shattering The Myths of Darwinism Part 2 *Sorry it took so long to get the podcast out, father forgot to upload it so he had to wait until Monday to try again.

Shattering the Myths of Darwinism Part 1

This week's podcast will be a discussion and criticism of the claims made within Richard Milton's book Shattering the Myths of Darwinism". The claims covered in this week's episode deal with abiogenesis, the geologic column, and polystrate fossils.Shattering the Myths of Darwinism Part 1EDIT: I had made the podcast before I received a reply about the Geologic Column from the USGS. Today I received a response which confirmed what I had said in the podcast: the complete geologic column depends on the presence of the layers, and NOT the thickness of the sediment because the thickness will be different in places with different sedimentation rates.Richard Milton's WebsitePolystrate FossilsResponse by Talk.originsInformation about the Joggins "Fossil Forest" FormationDavies S.J.1; Gibling M.R.Architecture of coastal and alluvial deposits in an extensional basin: the Carboniferous Joggins Formation of eastern CanadaSedimentology, Volume 50, Number 3, June 2003, pp. 415-439(25)Abiogenesis ClaimsZircon: evidence of early oceansJohn W. Time

This podcast will be discussing the nature of time and will talk a bit about time travel. The Creationist claim for the week is in regards to the Law of Biogenesis. I also make mention of a mistake I made in the previous podcast.Time
