It's January, the days are flying by and the Rockies are making moves as we head towards spring training.  This week, Drew is joined by one of the new Rockeis Assistant General Managers, Tommy Tanous.  The Broncos are getting ready for the Bills.  And Coach Prime has lost a key prospect to the transfer portal.  

On our final show of the year, Drew's middle son Zach jumps on the show to discuss some of the biggest moments of 2025 in sports.  Also, we'll reflect back on some of Drew's best interviews including Taylor McGregor, Steve Sands, Charlie Blackmon and Jon Morosi.  Happy New Year!

It's early.  And it's going to take awhile.  But this are starting to look positive for the future of the Rockies.  Drew is back from the Major League Baseball Winter Meetings and has a full recap.  And Drew's TV partner Jeff Huson joins the show to discuss the Rockies big offseason moves.

The Rockies made it official naming Warren Schaeffer as their manager.  On this special Thanksgiving Day edition of the Drew Goodman Podcast, Warren joins Drew to go in depth about the future of the Rockies.  CSU made a suprise hire in Jim Mora Jr. and the Nuggets and Avalanche are off to incredible starts.  Thanks for checking out the show today!  Happy Thanksgiving!

This week Drew is joined by his son Zach Goodman, voice of the Amarillo Sod Poodles.  They're reacting to the Broncos impressive victory over the Chiefs.  Bo Nix is proving to be a "winner" and very good in the clutch.  Are the Broncos a Superbowl team?  Rockies Executive VP Walker Monford had his first opportunity to address the fans.  And Drew and Zach are discussing the AL MVP selection of Aaron Judge. 

The Rockies have hired Paul DePodesta as President of Baseball Operations.  What's next?  There could be a general manager to follow.  The Buff fall again despite Prime's proclamation that they have the talent.  And the Broncos are an ugly 8-2.

Many are calling it the greatest World Series in baseball history.  Jon Morosi of Fox and MLB Network joins Drew to react to what happened and it's potential impact on baseball.  If you think the Broncos are a Superbowl team, Drew says hold your horses.  But they are are in a good place.  The Buffs, on the other hand, are not.

It was against a bad defense, but the Broncos did exactly as they needed to.  The Buffs and Rams both went from bad to worse.  The transfer portal is hurting a lot of teams.  Drew sees something in the World Series the Rockies could use more of.  We have a massive betting scandal.  It's a huge problem for the NBA and it may be just the beginning.

Drew grew up with the Giants and decided to head out to see them play the Broncos.  And it wasn't just any game.  It was one for the ages.  Jay Norvell is out as head coach of the CSU Rams.  Drew offers his thoughts on Shohei Ohtani and the MLB post-season.  The Rockies search for a head of baseball operations goes on.  

The Broncos checked a lot of boxes in their huge road win at Philadepha.  Among them, Bo Nix showing he can lead his team from behind in a big moment.  There was another instance of a player dropping the football before entering the endzone.  The CU Buffs are struggling and the CSU Rams are sinking like a rock. Ryan Spilborgs joins Drew to discuss the departure of Bill Schmidt and what lies ahead for the Rockies 

Bill Schmidt stepped aside today two days after the Rockies concluded their worst season in franchise history.  Drew has details on possible candidates for the GM job and a what the steps need to be to turn things around.  Also Drew has a post-mortum on the Rockies season and how it got as bad as it did.  

The Broncos could easlily be 3-0, but the poor play of Bo Nix has them at 1-2.  The CU Buffs get a big win over Wyoming, however the schedule is about to get rough.  The CSU Rams are a mess with no identity on offense.  And Rockies starter Tanner Gordon, who's been a bright spot lately, explains his approach to pitching and what makes the Rockies culture so unique even amidst this season's adversity.

Drew has a lot to say about the NFL week 1.  Starting with the Broncos and that there's no need to overreact to the ugly win.  The Buffs need to start the guy that helps you win now, and that's Ryan Staub.  The CSU Rams escape a bad upset but need to get things right quickly.  And Kyle Freeland sits down with Drew to talk about the tumultuous last week.  

Lee Corso steps down after a legendary career.  Drew pays tribute.  Week 1 of college football had lots of theater but Drew says calm down about Arch Manning.  The Buffs had a bad first outing.  Drew is weighing in on the Micah Parsons trade.  We've got an NFL preview and the Rockies struggles continue.

The Rockies are beginning to turn some heads with their much imporved play.  Newcommer Kyle Karros joins the show to talk about his ascent to the big leagues and his first big league hit and RBI.

Busy show!  Drew talks with 28 year old Rockies rookie Dugan Darnell about his unique journey to the big-leages and how he transitioned from 3rd base to the mound.  The Broncos defense has high expectations.  Sheduer Sanders impresses in his first pre-season outing with the Cleveland Browns.  Major League Baseball finally has a woman umpire.  And the Savanah Bananas have taken Denver and the nation by storm.  

It was an epic night of Lodo magic on Friday at Coors Field.  Brenton Doyle's walk-off two run homer capped off and unbelievable comeback over the Pirates.  There's a new Rockie turning up the heat on opposing pitchers.  And his name is Warming Bernabel.  Also, Drew tells us which teams are set to go deep into October after the trade deadline.

The Rockies have dealt Ryan McMahon to the New York Yankees.  Drew feels the two pitching prospects they received in return make it a good deal.  Drew's son Zach makes his big league broadcasting debut on KOA radio!  Former Rocky and all-time great pinch hitter Mark Sweeney joins Drew to share memories and talk about what's happening in baseball right now.  

Drew is back and refreshed after the break!  The Rockies are trying to avoid an ignominiuos disctinction.  How do they avoid it?  Tyler Freeman has a hot bat and is stoked to be in the show.  He sits down with Drew talk about life in the big leagues.  

Drew is pumped about the Nuggets off-season trades.  Rockies outfielder Mickey Moniak shares his story in the big leagues and what he loves about playing with the Rockies.  Who is the new bat you need to watch for in the Rox lineup?  And Drew pushes back on calls for Avs head coach Jared Bednar to be fired if they don't get past the 1st round next year.  

The Rockies are seeing improved play on the road.  The hire of Walker Monfort sparks controversy.  Steve Sands of the Golf Channel and NBC sports talk CU, CSU and everything in the world of golf.

The Rockies have found their bats on this road trip.  Hunter Goodman has led the way and other guys in the lineup are starting to come around like Michael Toglia and Ryan McMahan.  While in Atlanta, Drew had a chance to catch up with our old pal Walt Weiss who has some thoughts on the Rockies current predicament.  

After getting their first sweep of the season last week, the Rockies seem to have more of a buy in around the clubhouse.  Hot hitting catcher Hunter Goodman joins Drew to talk about his mindset and approach to the game this season, and who he seeks counsel with.  The NBA and NHL have seen two shockiing firings this post-season.

The Rockies historic struggles are continuing and Drew is answering the question, how did this happen?  One of a few bright spots for the Rockies is left fielder Jordon Beck.  He talks about Drew about his better play and how he copes with the team's struggles.

The Nuggets and Avalanche are facing difficult choices this offseason.  Should the Nuggets break up their core to strengthen their bench?  And what do the Avs do to fortify their 2nd line.  Also Rockies intrim manager Warren Shaeffer joins the show to talk about his style of managing and the kind of team he'd like the Rockies to be. 

After a historic 7-33 start, the Rockies have moved on from manager Bud Black.  Drew offers his reaction.  Warren Schaefer takes over.  The Nuggets are now tied 2-2 with the Thunder headed back to OKC.

It was a bittersweet weekend in Colorado sports.  The Nuggets are moving on to the 2nd round.  The Avalanche suffer a brutal loss to Dallas in heartbreaking fashion.  Chase Dollander joins Drew to talk about his first few weeks in the big leagues and will get technical on how he uses his pitches.  

Gabriel Landeskog had a dream come true night in the Avalanche game 4 win over the Stars.  Aaron Gordon's stunning buzzer beater dunk gets the Nuggets even with the Clippers.  And what have we learned from the story of Shedeur Sanders falling so far in the draft?  

The Rockies brutal start has lead to some changes as hitting coach, Hensley Meulens takes the fall.  Clint Hurdle takes over as hitting coach.  Kyle Farmer, the one bright spot in the Rockies lineup, joins Drew to talk about the tough start and what he's doing to help younger players.  The Buffs have retired the jersey numbers of Travis Hunter and Sheduer Sanders and the controversy is hot.  

It's a special edition of the Drew Goodman Podcast.  Episode 300!  And for the occasion, we have special guest Charlie Blackmon talking about life after baseball.  The Nuggets shocked the world this week with their dismissal of Coach Michael Malone.  The Rockies are off to a dismal start but have elevated Zach Veen and Chase Dolander to the roster.

The Avs are on a collision course with the Dallas Stars in the post-season.  Kyle Keefe has a declaration about who wins that series.  Drew has some ironic facts about the Rockies slow start.

It's the most optimistic day of the year.  And we've got some!  Measured optimism.  Rockies Manager Bud Black is on the show and says the pitching is much improved and the defense is elite.  The hitting is still a place of concern.  Drew has a full break down of the CSU Rams tough tournament loss. 

Rockies Pitching coach Darryl Scott is prett optimisic about his squad.  But Drew is concerned about the lack of offense.  The Rams advance to the round of 32.  The Avalanche have the Stanley Cup on their mind.

Drew is focusing in on Nolan Jones, Jorden Beck and Zach Veen.  What are they expectations from the Rockies outfield?  The NBA MVP conversation is back.  The Broncos are making big moves in the offseason.  Former big leaguer and current Padres broadcaster Tony Gwynn Jr. joins the show to discuss the Padres, baseball and his late father Tony Gwynn.

Drew has another in depth report on the Rockies at spring training and is highlighting some players you need to know about.  Dodgers play by play announcer joins Drew to talk baseball and says that the Dodgers are not satisfied with last year's World Series title.

Drew has a preview of the NFL conference championshipt games.  Spring training is getting closer and Drew has some of the off-season moves, in particular, with the Dodgers.  This year's Baseball Hall of Fame inductees were announced and Drew has some thoughts.  And our special guest this week is Michigan running backs coach Tony Alford who has thoughts on recruiting in 2025.  And Tony shares what it's like having coached at both Michigan and Ohio State.

The College Football Playoff got a lot more exciting in the final four.  Drew is questioning some of the Texas play calling.  The Irish are suprising finalists.  Broadcaster THom Brennaman joins Drew to talk about the fateful moment where he uttered a homophobic slur on a Cinncinati Reds broadcast.  And Drew is paying tribue to Bill McCartney.

Like most of us, Drew sat down to watch he Mike Tyson Jake Paul fight last Friday.. and regrets it.Coach Prime has impressed us all and says he's here to stay.  But is he?  The Nuggets struggle without Nikola Jokic.  The Avs are getting healthy.  And Bud Black is back for part 2 of his visit with Drew and is looking ahead to 2025.
