Malcolm's work is rooted in a deep respect for small business owners, whom he believes are the backbone of the global economy. He is known for his strong stance against "fake gurus" and hype-driven coaching models, advocating instead for integrity, results, and long-term client impact.  Malcolm and his team maintain a rigorous vetting process, working only with coaches who demonstrate strong values, ethics, and a genuine desire to serve.   Through his work, Malcolm helps coaches stop guessing, stop hustling, and start operating like true owners, so they can build stable businesses, support their families, and drive measurable results for the small businesses they serve.

Have you considered the idea of asking AI to help you learn about AI, or what questions you should be asking AI to learn how best to use its capabilities? These are some of the thoughts discussed as we brought Dave Saunders back to our podcast. The Entrepreneurs' Guild EP 255: "Issues, Ideas & Resolutions"- Shiny Object Syndrome

Many entrepreneurs have terrific business ideas and develop products and services that are unique, interesting, valuable and needed in the market. But they never achieve success because they get distracted by an allegedly exciting new idea that throws them off course. It is often the case that the individuals who experience this phenomenon burn through several ideas a year! They lack the focus and commitment to finish one idea before moving to another, usually because the passion required to see an idea thrive. Is deficient. All the crucial aspects of preparing to launch a new business are missing: A passionate "Why", and well-conceived Mission & Vision, and solid Planning. This program discusses these issues and offers ideas on how to properly handle new ideas in a way that keeps you focused on progress and accomplishment, while saving good ideas for later.

The Entrepreneurs' Guild EP 252: "Issues, ideas & Resolutions" – Time Management

William Penn once said, "Time is what we want most, but what we use worst." Properly planning and managing time is crucial for a busy entrepreneur, and yet, very few people have a process or the tools to do so. As a result, time is not spent wisely, important work is not done, frustration grows and results are weak. In today's program we discuss ideas about how to better manage your time, and we detail the processes we use on a daily basis. Time management is actually easy when you have a process, and when you take a very small amount of that time, on a daily basis, to utilize your process. It's not brain surgery … it's actually very basic. Perhaps some of what we discuss today will beneath your business, and your days, in ways that will reduce stress, make you more productive, and have a positive impact on your business, your family, and your customers!

The Entrepreneurs' Guild EP 242: Issues, Ideas & Resolutions – Hiring, Part 3, The First 90 days

Today, we conclude the discussion on "Hiring" by looking at an activity that most entrepreneurs overlook. The first 90 days of a new hire are critical, so how do you gauge whether you made a good hire and if that new employee is performing at the level you anticipated? Are you measuring their performance against a set of standards that were known and communicated prior to hiring them? Do they know how you are perceiving their efforts? Does it appear that they are fitting in and achieving their objectives, but in reality, they are doubting their own performance? Or worse, do they think they're a superstar, but you're not satisfied with their progress? Legally, you may have only 90 days (or less) to correct issues, after which it can become very difficult to cut someone loose if you have not done the proper job of communication and feedback with the employee.  This is a multi-faceted process that requires thought, strategy, and action!  We discuss the key activities in this program.

  32. 69

The Entrepreneurs' Guild EP 241: Issues, Ideas & Resolutions – Hiring, Part 2, Interviewing

Today, we continue the discussion on "Hiring" by looking at the step which is most often butchered by the business owner, "Interviews". Many of the nasty challenges faced by making a bad hire could easily be avoided by planning and executing a great interview … asking the right open-ended questions, focusing on both hard skills and soft skills, designing questions that are informed by the uniqueness of the job function being filled, knowing how to get a sense of 'fit within the organization' and having an intelligent system of gathering data and scoring each candidates answers. Sounds like a lot of work, right? Just remember this, solid preparation and good questioning techniques build great teams, and avoid ugly and expensive consequences downstream. If it were easy we wouldn't be having this discussion!

  33. 68

The Entrepreneurs' Guild EP 240: Issues, Ideas & Resolutions – Hiring, Part 1, Preparation

In this next program, part of the series "Issues, Ideas and Resolutions", we introduce a discussion on "Hiring". Unfortunately, most entrepreneurs are not good at hiring, and they don't understand how to best approach team building and avoiding issues with their staff. We begin this 3-part series by looking at "Preparation". Hiring, just like every other function in business, requires thought, strategy, planning and excellent execution. So, you must begin tis process with a thorough examination of why you're hiring, for what purpose, when, who, and how? There's a lot more to this activity than meets the eye!

The Entrepreneurs' Guild EP 234: "Issues, Ideas & Resolutions" … De-Risking

Plan for calamity!  That is the premise of this program.  A wise businessperson will continually take a hard look at all potential risks that are inherent in their business, in their planning and decisions, and among their clientele, and identify the steps to be taken to minimize the impacts of significant problems or setbacks.  The term "de-risking" was new to until recently, but it's a powerful concept that we've taught clients for years, just using other terminology.  A wise and proactive entrepreneur may even be able to leverage risk to create competitive advantages when challenges occur.   Note, for instance, those whose businesses grew and thrived during the pandemic because they pivoted in new or interesting directions.

  40. 61

In this program we tell stories and answer questions about delegation, and discuss best practices in becoming great at delegation, and as a result, great at managing your time and workflow.
