This is The Final Edition of The Game Mavens, so I went all out and included every interview I did this year (All up to the PS4 launch week) and rolled it into one podcast with Metal Gear Rising music throughout. See you in 2014…

Joey, Ryan and Mark all squeeze into the One-Man SDV to get shot toward Shadow Moses and discuss the first Metal Gear Solid for a good hour. So have a good hour… before it all goes to hell. Or New York.

Joey Chiu is joined by Ryan “Nitroid” Kincaid and George “Regulus” Kokoris as they venture into Outer Heaven and Zanzibarland kicking off the madness that is the Metal Gear series discussion. Joey Chiu and David Winn took a short break in the middle of the last show to chat about the work of Kazuma Kaneko, the awesome dude behind Shin Megami Tensei from story to design. So here you go.

Joey Chiu and David Winn continue down the rabbit hole of the Shin Megami Tensei series and explore its spin-offs. From Devil Summoner to Persona 2 (both versions), they even wrangle a few lesser-known titles for a minute or two, but that’s over with quick enough. Have a listen, won’t you?

Joey Chiu (not Shinogu for a while) is joined by MegaTen Maven David Winn to chat about the start of Shin Megami Tensei, the RPG series that brought us such things as God a la Patrick Stewart’s floating head, devil summoning via the app store, and creatures based on certain body parts.

Joey got his move on with the PlayStation 3 motion controller, but decided to interview Dr. Richard Marks and Anton Mikhailov (the guys behind the tech) as well as Jeff Rubenstein of Sony Computer Entertainment America in lieu of playing the demos too much. Why? Iunno ._.
